I see this crap in every game with a ranked mode. People think they are better than they really are and think ranked should be some kind of progression and that's not how ranked works.
If you're actually good you'll climb. People don't get "lucky." They just carry better than you do because they make better decisions, they don't die pointlessly, they know when to back off and kite, they don't run into a 1v5 cuz they bothered to look at the player list and realized their entire team is dead, they utilize their LB's correctly instead of holding on to them until they "need" it or blowing it pointlessly on a single player that's already almost dead.....the list goes on forever.
There are 6 tiers in the Ranked ladder. Cracked players will be good enough to hard carry but that doesn't mean everyone else deserves to flounder around in Bronze. I have never played The Feast before, which means that in the last two days I have racked up about 200 kills and 750 assists in about 100 matches. This is probably not all that impressive to a top player, but I would like to imagine that it is more deserving than dipping between the Bronze 2/3 threshold.I see this crap in every game with a ranked mode. Your comment is absolutely ridiculous because it doesn't leave any room for the possibility that the ranked game mode has any balancing issues and that players simply need to become Diamond-tier players just to be good enough to pull themselves into Silver and Gold. An absolute nonsense contribution to the thread. Cogitating over making the Ranked climb 'more lenient' doesn't make it a progression system, it just helps players get to an ELO that represents their skill level much quicker. By and large you want most of the player base to be in Gold or Platinum as those two ranks represent the top of the bell curve in terms of average skill level, but if it comes out that most people are in Bronze or Silver and then the players start to fray as the tiers go up, you are going to end up with all sorts of matchmaking issues that 'git gud' simply cannot solve.
Making it more lenient just leads to a bloated higher ranked group where players that don't belong will just get nuked even harder. Halo Infinite learned that lesson hard because people were getting ranked too high and then getting nuked by actual good players. They reset the ranks and most everyone dropped a full tier.
Its already happening, it IS already easier at least to trade through tiers since you dont lose them once you got them. Just have an eye on late night queues![]()

The biggest change Crystalline Conflict needs is forced compositions.
1 Tank 1 healer 3 dps.
Stupid to fight double healer, Warrior and 2 melee.
For proper ranked system there needs to be an actual proper pvp BALANCE not a system where everyone has wow's SHIELD WALL with 30 sec cd. Not to mention there should be a strict team comp, not a rng system that will put you into 5 dps against tank+heal+3 dps that know how to play.
Playing in ranked is toxic since you can't even tell team "lets focus this enemy, don't forget to regroup and you rush in only if you can stall them with Guard" etc. Literally every loss it's a "Nice job" from people, this is how devs intended to communicate?
With how team comp and specific class balance is broken it creates stomp games where you see already winning team after first skirmish in middle. Stuff like DNC/MNK is auto win/auto lose depending which side you are in. It's 5 minute mode but i already want to see lol's concede button.
Until you get matched with people that don't play the objective. Luck plays a significant role.I see this crap in every game with a ranked mode. People think they are better than they really are and think ranked should be some kind of progression and that's not how ranked works.

Which unfortunately is most matches for the people who aren't good enough to solo carry a team to a win in this team-based game.
I don't have all of the solutions, but saying that everyone should be in Bronze/Silver until they're so good at the game they can solo carry teams defeats the purpose of having 6 entire tiers in the first place. It's meant to be a gradual climb to your current skill ceiling, not quicksand at the bottom until you're so good at the game you can fly out of it. I can guarantee that the distribution of players in Bronze is disgustingly high which should be raising all kinds of alarm bells that MAYBE the communication options aren't good enough (someone sent me a Tell after a match demanding I 'stop spamming' when I was just shot-calling when to retreat), or that the Ranked system is so punishing that most people can't grind at all.
They gotta use Pokemon Unite's ranking system with the performance points. It's designed for babies and FFXIV players play like babies. It will go well together.
