With random team your chances against premade almost non exist, there is no coordination or synergy.
If you are solo player and join to random team outcome already clear versus premade you have no reason to stay in battle field.. it is same in all games LoL etc.
They can probably can make separate queue like premade VS premade.. they did it before, not many people interested PvP in a PvE oriented game.. so people complained waiting times in queue long.
Proper matchmaking also needs a lot of matchmaking data to function properly, which does not exist right now.
Just be the healer then, problem solved! ^^It's as I said in another thread, the complaints about premades years ago killed them. It's bad enough that shit is lopsided at times due to rng, I can't guarantee that my team has a healer and that has cost me many loses to teams them have at least 1.
Love the mode but man...
On-topic tho, yes! I still can't quite fathom why they removed party queues in the first place. The matches will and have always been lopsided.
The willingness alone to communicate basically wins/loses all of the BGs. No amount of puppeteered queues is gonna make some people not lose ^^
They shoulda just added single-player trust PvP imho. Then both sides would've been happy, eventho am sure both sides would find something to cry about.
Remember the whole skill-based matchmaking crapchute? I do and it ( amongst other things} shows how clueless devs are, since they'll always cater to the lowest common denominator - hoping for a player number increase :3
Money money money numbers numbers numbers. Like, the Kaiten thing. People aren't mad coz stuff was changed per se, they're mad it got removed without a substitute! ( 100% crit doesn't matter since it's the most boring kind of spell - more damage hurrhurr}
How about instead, you guys make a game that's fun to play inherently? You know, like it used to be.
I'll never forget Royal Road AST, or SCH as a proper pet healer. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, was a thing unique to this game AFAIK?
Anyway, sorry for ranting but it seems like there's a million reasons for it nowadays.
PvP seasons are neat tho, so are adventurer plates. Kudos for that, SE!

Healers are barely healers anymore. You don't need one if your teammates are actually brave and not doomplaying because you don't have a healer.
Just look on the most competitive 5v5 PvP game in the world. League of Legends.
They have restricted the duoQ a lot and always think about completely disabling in for the all ranked matches.
They have already done this on the highest ranks.
Boosting and unfair teams would be the result of having the possibility to play directly with friend's.
just queue at the same time as your friends lmao, if you're lucky, you'll roflstomp the opponent together, if not, well, you can beat your friends!
Can't they just match group size? parties of 2 get match against parties of 2 then filled with randoms and so on. Sure, means if you group up it takes longer but at öleast you can play together
"Make PVP fair in a online game with no meaningfull ranking or anykind of measurement of skill (a number that says how good you are)"
That statement make no sense and is impossible to fullfill. SE needs to aknowledge that FFXIV is not a PVP game and accept this or start build in rankings, evulation systems.
Plain and simple a way to measure how good players are and match them arcordingly and even then it is, like in the real world, impossible to make a competitive system "fair".
SE can try to give the equality of chance but not of outcome. My 2 cents.
Please direct all your Feedback to the people who complained about friends playing pvp together. Thank you.
