This will do nothing to curb botting or RMT. They just switched out one form of random for another. That's it.
But I'll miss the threads of ppl on here complaining that their afk click bot spent all their gil on coke...
You... have no idea how botting works, do you? Like literally none? A nigh infinite pool of accounts with mounds and mounds of gil. In an ecosystem where the vast majority of plots are for FCs now. When selling FCs with houses was the main method. While these plots come at the expense of private plots.
I swear. Sometimes I have to do the thinking for people.
Also chance of a ten year lifetime? What?
It doesnt matter since the restriction of a 30 day old FC was told less than 20 days ago. So all those bots will miss out on the first lottery cycle. Sure, some might have been an FC, but even then, its highly unlikely that for every 4 bots they had an FC.
And thats how the bots got excluded.
MOST have been an FC as, again, this was the optimal way to trade houses. Bots did not get excluded. And certainly you don't even believe yourself when you imply bots were just sitting around kicking rocks before the announcement. We were told of the lottery system, the new housing area, and a potential FC age requirement (although technically defined later) far before. Anyone with a few neurons would think it wise to prepare for these factors. With the large majority of plots being given to FCs, again, at the expense of player plots, this only increases their odds. To say nothing of how unlikely all those wards will be effectively filled by legitimate FCs in general, offering more legroom for bots.It doesnt matter since the restriction of a 30 day old FC was told less than 20 days ago. So all those bots will miss out on the first lottery cycle. Sure, some might have been an FC, but even then, its highly unlikely that for every 4 bots they had an FC.

I think it's silly to say that bots are excluded when the method they always used is suddenly unviable in an ecosystem where that method has not only been unregulated, but outright encouraged.
Why does Yoshi and his crew insist on playing this insipid game of cat and mouse with supply and demand of houses? Instanced housing. I won't stop crying for it. It's spawned into the golden standard for a reason and we're witnessing why it overtook this archaic, primitive nonsense that only exists because, from what I hear, is the dev's pining nostalgia.

Except RMT knew back in November there would be a waiting period. They were getting their FCs set up well in advance. It doesnt matter since the restriction of a 30 day old FC was told less than 20 days ago. So all those bots will miss out on the first lottery cycle. Sure, some might have been an FC, but even then, its highly unlikely that for every 4 bots they had an FC.

What has them stymied now is that they thought they had found a way around whatever waiting period SE set to transfer FC Master to the buyer. A little testing when the servers came up on Tuesday revealed that using the method auto-disbands the FC. Now they need to decide if the risk of having SE discover their RMT before the resale is finalized is worth the potential reward.
The restriction is if you already own a personal house on the same world. If you don't already own one, then all your alts can enter. If 2 alts enter and win, only the first to buy the house will get one. The other would forfeit.
FC houses are a different situation and there's been some bugs with FC relocation getting discussed in the Housing forum.
