I legit wanna ask: Have you ever done that? Did you ever engage with that system personally before?

I bought my first house in Behe, and then had to get another one when I moved to Levi (lost the Behe house upon transfer). Then there's the house for our FC.
There's nothing more soul crushing and horrifying than losing a plot to someone else (often a bot) after 4 - 8 hours of camping and clicking. You could be using that time for anything else, and instead you're losing your mind to a placard.

Or you could buy a 3M small for 100M in the black market...

My Behe house took about 34 straight hours to get. My Levi house about 7.
FC House? About 3 months... with several 8 hour click sessions throughout. And my story is hardly special or unique.
The experience was draining and exhausting both mentally and physically.

I ask because to me it seems absolutely insane that anyone would want to submit themselves to placard spamming instead of dropping a bid and leaving to do literally anything else with your life than click on a placard.

The housing system is far from perfect, but f*ck FCFS and placard click spamming.

MOST have been an FC as, again, this was the optimal way to trade houses. Bots did not get excluded. And certainly you don't even believe yourself when you imply bots were just sitting around kicking rocks before the announcement. We were told of the lottery system, the new housing area, and a potential FC age requirement (although technically defined later) far before. Anyone with a few neurons would think it wise to prepare for these factors. With the large majority of plots being given to FCs, again, at the expense of player plots, this only increases their odds. To say nothing of how unlikely all those wards will be effectively filled by legitimate FCs in general, offering more legroom for bots.

I think it's silly to say that bots are excluded when the method they always used is suddenly unviable in an ecosystem where that method has not only been unregulated, but outright encouraged.

Why does Yoshi and his crew insist on playing this insipid game of cat and mouse with supply and demand of houses? Instanced housing. I won't stop crying for it. It's spawned into the golden standard for a reason and we're witnessing why it overtook this archaic, primitive nonsense that only exists because, from what I hear, is the dev's pining nostalgia.

You are forgetting the fact that it takes 30 days after a person joins an FC to be given leadership. Which means said buyer will still have to wait to obtain what they paid a bot for. So unless the owner is able to leave the FC and the new member becomes owner (hoping that loophole isn't the case) they would still have to wait which no normal "smart" person would give a bot hundreds of thousands of gil to buy an FC with house of they have to wait 30 days just to get rid of the bot and take leader privileges. But, alas who knows... some people have more gil then brains.

Oh yeah, thanks soooo much for the shiny new crafting/gathering gear that's ridiculously hard to make and requires massive amounts of materials. Since that exact gear is the ONLY gear in the game currently that REQUIRES that gear to make, it's POINTLESS. Do you guys actually look at what your doing before, during, and after you're doing it? That's a complete circular pattern there. I've been disappointed by you for the last time, SE. It was fun, but this current attitude isn't gonna cut it for me anymore.

Is this your first time crafting because its like this EVERY SINGLE xpac lol. They do this to give players time to prep for the crafted raid gear without having to rush. It follows the same trends with crafted gear year after year. Beside that, crafting has progressively gotten easier with each xpac since SB. What's next, a single button crafting system and the game hands you the mats? The things people are salty over could season my food for life.

Also, just to mention. Its not required for anything, not even the gear itself. The crafted AR-Caen i560 gear is more than enough until 6.2 approaches when it will actually be required and even then, yea you guessed it. The i560 gear is more than capable of crafting the new dol/doh gear.

It's ridiculous. Lottery isn't the "answer". Is it really that hard to add more housing districts to meet demand? I bought all the mounts, minions, emotes in the cash shop. I've spent over $1500 last year and have pre-orders for another $600 in their regular store. I'd have no problem forking over more money just to get out of this constant annoyance of trying to secure a lot. Call it the "whale district" (a term used for people who spend way too much cash on cash shops) if they must. They can use that money to upgrade the servers to allow more districts for everyone else if it's simply a matter of resources. Or they should be pressed to answer the question as to why they cannot create more districts to meet demand.

It actually is not really a bad idea for them to progressively add wards as players purchase them with real money. How ever they always go back to the same tired excuse of server space issues which prevents additional housing. Yoshi P is the king of false promises and excuses.

The fact that they allow you to buy 590 gear.... What are you expecting? them to just hand you gear that's almost BIS? /facepalm give it a week or two and prices will drop significantly. Gear is stupid easy to get in this game

This system is even more unfair than the last one. I would rather sit around clicking a board all day than to have my name thrown in a pot with umpteen other people, and then have to wait FOR DAYS, without my money, until you award the house randomly. You've got people out there bidding on 4 or 5 medium plots right now, but you can only own ONE. You shouldn't be able to have more than one bid out at a time. THAT is fair.

You limited personal housing to only 5 out of 24 wards. I just spent an hour running through all the FC wards. Most houses have zero bids. Go to the personal ward, EVERY PLOT has over 7 bids already, regardless of size. Not to mention my girlfriend and I can't even purchase one of those unbid-on plots for our FC, because it's just the two of us, not four. That's random. How do 4 people deserve a guild house more than 2 people?

because they don't want people like you, who spend most time on the game afk clicking on board to have more chance just because you grabbed one person to click with you. honestly? personal housing sucks I don't see a reason for individuals owning medium/mansions when the housing is a limited feature, it reminds that time when a an entire ward by themselves and no one else could have a house but guess spammers will say "that was fair".
