Housing failure... Again, and a few other comments

In regards to the FC house complaint about not being able to buy because your FC is just you and your GF. One of the previous issues with acquiring a house was people using "shell" FC's that only had 1 or 2 people in it in order to claim additional housing plots with 1 character. Frequently for the purpose of reselling it to someone else for profit... you know... just like those scalpers with GPU's and PS5s were doing.

The wording I see on the lottery system says 1 entry per period. This leads me to believe that these periods or windows are set as a whole rather than per plot. If so that means 1 character can only have 1 entry active at any given time and characters with more gil to their name would not be able to run around and put an entry on every plot hoping they get pulled for 1 of them.

The thing I'd need someone to verify for me is whether or not there is anything giving indication of how many entries have been submitted for a specific plot.

I know it's the 1st day for putting down deposits, but currently I'm *very* surprised at how few people are actually doing so. I found a small plot in an out of the way area and currently it's just me and one other person who have put down a deposit. Fully expected to have hundreds, so at least at this point the odds are ever in our favor... We'll see how it progresses over the next couple of days, but am cautiously optimistic that the chances of getting a house will be higher than anticipated. Beats the heck out of going up against bots and spending hours mindlessly clicking on a placard.

If some of the predictions coming from others here are correct, you might be fooling yourself by waiting for so long, as there will be a horde of bidders filling in all of the low bid plots near the end and thus it may be difficult at best to tailor your bid to find the best odds. Additionally, by bidding early, you are putting pressure on a plot and making others think a bit more carefully about bidding on that same plot. In the end though, assuming there are a great many bidders ready to jump in, there is no clear winner in terms of bidding early or bidding late. It's all going to be a crapshoot. At least it will be fair for everyone participating.

Tell that to my FC mates who already laid their eggs all over the district. Admittedly, I got home late and logged on likewise, but they were supposed to wait for me so I could stop them from doing exactly what they did. Ugh! so impulsive.

Anywho, making a late bid doesn't increase your odds, so I imagine what you meant is you want to evaluate the plots a little closer to cutoff in order to increase your chances by bidding on a plot with few participants. I had the same idea. And that means a ton of other players do too. However, you do have the right idea in mind when it comes to location, and oddly enough, the ward number can play a huge factor.

I feel your pain on wanting a house; best of luck to ya! Really curious to see how many folks wait until the last moment and what that does to the numbers on the individual plots. In the meantime I'm going to run a bunch of ARR dungeons on alts and enjoy the new lighting and boss fights. Totally diggin' the new patch!

and the reason why there are so many plots is because bots are out of business all the plots are for us, so make 4 million and get a house. Now is your chance of a ten year lifetime.

This will do nothing to curb botting or RMT. They just switched out one form of random for another. That's it.
