    Remove Overtime from Crystal Conflict

    Overtime is such an antifun mechanic that literally saps all skill out of the game. It's inconsistent at best, and total ragebait at worse. Losing the game and the enemy's about to win? Burst2win with a Dancer into literally any aoe LB and just win. Enemy has such a long respawn time that you've already won before they respawn.

    Seriously, it's a terrible mechanic. PVP is incredibly improved but if you're gonna have oneshot limitbreaks and absurd stunlocks, atleast design the game around it and don't have "lol you were losing but the enemy made 1 mistake during overtime so now you win" mechanic.

    You'd expect them to make a game mode that doesn't go into long overtimes since they claimed they want each match to be very short.

    Yet here we are. Most of the matches i've played go into long over times. What a mess, as usual

    Maintain control of the payload better and you won't have this issue.

    If the enemy team is just going to hard stall by throwing themselves at the payload one at a time, their death timers will eventually scale up to the point where they can't get back to the payload in time and they just lose. If your team is ahead and has full control when time runs out, there's no overtime and you just win. Partial control (players from both teams are on the payload but your team has more) isn't good enough.

    Keep in mind that overtime exists specifically to enable come-from-behind victories so the losing team has a reason to keep playing until the time runs out. If one Dancer-LB-into-AoE-LB team wipe was enough to decide the game during overtime, 1) the enemy team should have done that sooner, and 2) your team didn't deserve the win nearly as much as you think they did.

    Exactly. There's timer that lets you know the game is ending, you can see which team is about to lose the game, and you can even see the LBs the enemy has ready. If you're surprised by anything that comes next... I dont know what to tell you guys. lol

    I've been on teams that die to the last ditch burst and teams that live no problem, its entirely avoidable if you play your cards right.

    People are already doing that the moment they lose the initial push to the crystal.
    Its too easy for one team to steamroll, and the steamroll team, always wins from the start, its impossible to break them off let alone pick a single player off from them, they just dont take damage but dish too much of it out the moment you get near.

    As Yoshida has said in a recent letter, GMs do not take action unless there's an established pattern of that behavior - and without people flagging behavior as potentially destructive, that pattern will be impossible to establish. So don't worry about accidentally reporting someone that's not violating a rule - if they aren't consistently behaving that way, they won't get caught in the net. Even in casual, you should report these folks. Not only because it's intentionally ruining the game and wasting the time of 9 other players, but because in my experience people that are toxic in one area of the game tend to be toxic in other areas as well.

    More on topic: Overtime is fine, but it needs to have a set limit. Two or three minutes is more than enough time to cross the map at least once (it's like maybe 30 seconds to go from mid to goal, including stopping at the checkpoint, if all five people stand on the checkpoint), and it removes the balance problems created by "everyone has to be on the point" design OT currently operates under. The game ends immediately when OT is up, and whoever has made the most progress at that time is declared the winner (including progress on checkpoint.) In the event that both teams are even, the match is declared a draw - no points gained or lost for either side.

    Then we should also be able to report players who throw themselves at the enemy team 1v5. People who sit in spawn building LB charge benefit their team more than those doing suicidal charges.
