Why doesnt Zodiark have an Entry in the Codex when Hydaelyn does?

Did they say if they were going to be updating it with slowly over time with past characters or what? Seems like a major oversight unless im just missing something.Or is this just more Hydaelyn bias from the writers its hard to tell at this point.

They don't mention Thancred either, even though he appears in the MSQ. From what I can gather, The Unending Codex might serve as an entry point for new players. So rather than filling them with an absurd amount of lore to understand everything before 6.0, they just introduce concepts as they are needed, like characters and concepts.

It's pretty much on a need to know basis, if it's needed to expand on what they are talking about, or to understand the history of the character it will be put in the unending codex to give fresh players who start at 6.1 the chance to catch up.

It's pretty much on a need to know basis, if it's needed to expand on what they are talking about, or to understand the history of the character it will be put in the unending codex to give fresh players who start at 6.1 the chance to catch up.

But Zodiark is a core character since the start of the game. They even mention Elidibus this patch as well. Why would he not be featured in it if Hydaelyn is? If neither are going to be huge in the future then what’s the reason for her being in it and not him? Doesn’t make much sense to me and just kind of screams bias, especially since it cuts out how much of the negative stuff she did.

It only updates when they're mentioned in the story from the point at which you get the codex onward. Hydaelyn has been mentioned, Zodiark has not. Although Zodiark is mentioned in "The Reflections" it seems like it follows this strict rule about it needing to be part of a new main story cutscene.

Hydaelyn is a magical mecha suit as well tho, with no agency of her own. Its only because Venat is still in her as the core that she has agency. Zodiark has been present since 2.0...so im not sure where that argument lies? Also, in the end hes the reason why the planet even continues to exist, not Hydaelyn.

Hydaelyn and Venat are interchangeable just as Elidibus and Zodiark should have been but we never witnessed in the game a full Zodiark or even a Zodiark with Elidibus at the helm so we just know his ejected, active self, Elidibus. Just like we only knew Venat as “Hydaelyn” until the very end of the game when we met Venat pre-summoning because that’s who we actually interacted with up until that point.

I haven’t started the new MSQ yet so I haven’t seen what the criteria for being included in the codex are but I think you’re making much ado about nothing.

You can believe what you wish but i’m simply asking why she’s in it while he isn’t. He’s a pivotal part of the games story that people starting in 6.1 should know, again, considering he’s the reason the world even exists in the first place. I suggest you do your msq before commenting on matters that people are talking about in regards to it.
