    Weather.

    I appreciate the fact that there is different weather in the game, however, for the last month or so I have felt like I am playing in a tropical rain forest. It rains, CONSTANTLY. I realize that this is extremely minor to complain about, and people will probably think I'm nuts for bringing it up here, but good GRIEF. It's depressing to see the game dark and rainy all the freaking time. Maybe I'm just sensitive to it, but I know there are others who agree with me, as they have mentioned it as well.

    Can we tweak the coding or something some time so that we can have a drought for a while? Eesh. My character is growing gills at this point.

    Thanks for reading my ridiculous rant, and if you feel the same way, say-so so I know that there are even more people who feel the same.

    You might just be getting unlucky when you load into an area. Weather changes rather frequently, but if you aren't in the zone very long you probably won't see it. I've had fog in a beast tribe zone every time I've been there for the past 2 weeks. My friend went there 5 minutes after I left and it was bright and sunny.

    The weather changes every 8 hours Eorzia time, midnight, 8am and 4 pm. (8hours ET = 23mins 20sec IRL time). There are certain activities in game that requires rain (Sightseeing Log, Fishing Log/quests, etc), so it is expected to see it steadily showing up.

    You are probably just having a streak of bad timing to kind of always find yourself having to resort using an umbrella..

    Talk to the skywatchers in towns to get an idea of what weather is coming. There's also only resources that report the skywatchers' forecasts.

    Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
    A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
