I Like the Samurai Changes

Just so the devs know the wailing and gnashing of teeth isn't universal. I'm a newer player, but pressing Kaiten, a button that just buffs another button (which you would always do) felt silly and took away from using another, more active skill.

I like it, and I imagine I'm not alone, but I suspect most won't speak up due to abuse. Also love the auto crits. When playing in small groups and solo, it feels great.

How very disingenuous of you to insinuate that people upset over changes are somehow abusing poor defenseless posters such as yourself. You're entitled to your opinion but most Samurai players disagree, not something that should be hard to grasp

I like how anyone who doesn’t like the changes is just wailing, just because we didn’t like the devs terrible changes to Sam doesn’t mean we are a bunch of non rational whiners who are just crying to cry. You and the other small minority of people who either didn’t care and were for removing kaiten and the other changes imply you are somehow these rational and enlightened people because you agree with the devs. It’s embarrassing to read, as a final note here, I hope your ready for kaiten to comeback in 6.2 if Yoshi p stays true to his promise of taking the feedback to these changes seriously because they removed hagakure in shb and people didn’t like that either and it was back in the game in a patch and the outcry wasn’t even close to what these changes have brought.

So let me get this straight. You are asking us to respect your opinion but won't respect ours, on top of throwing insults then saying the changes were made specifically for you, so no one else is allowed to object? Honestly I am rather open to hearing the other side, they are always welcome to express their opinion. Unless they shit on other's opinion because they think their way of thinking is "correct" and everyone else is "wrong". Get over yourself. You're not even worth making an extra post for.

I'm a newer player

Meaning no offense, but this is kind of the problem and as a newer player it'd be wise to have an ounce of self-awareness when all the non-'newer player' SAMs are making their observations and complaints. When the vast majority of SAM mains are consistently making the same points in every thread in every language, you kind of have to concede that maybe amongst all the salt there's a nugget or three of truth that comes from a place of prior knowledge and actual investment into the class.

If you're enjoying it, more power to you. But you should realise that your opinion holds less weight than someone who has mained the job since 2017.

(That someone not necessarily being me, but there's plenty of threads started by people who picked it up in 4.0 and never put it down. For me, it's been my main DPS since like... 4.3ish)

EDIT: It's also worth noting that Yoshi himself asked SAMs to post their feedback on the official forums after the patch dropped, so it's not just salt and vitriol for the sake of it. Square actively requested our feedback, and we're giving it to them in varying degrees of bluntness. Some people are screeching, some are making some very detailed points based on actual analysis and some like me are just salty that the feel of their favourite DPS has changed significantly and this is the only recourse we have to hopefully changing it back. SAM wasn't broken, they shouldn't have tried to "fix" it.

I'll ignore the veil that you put up for now as a " Newer Player ", being Lv90 Omnicrafter I see and also 9 other classes ranging from tanks/healer/dps leveled all to 90... quite impressive for a " Newer Player ", but I digress...

Mentioning that Kaiten " felt silly and took away from using another, more active skill ", ironically the only skill to replace it with would be Shinten, requiring a lot less thinking to it since it's just an attack and arguably " Less Active "

Opinions are free to share, regardless if you're new or not. However an opinion is better with substance and even more so if it's not with ill intent... You will be met with a lot of disagreeing Samurai's, for very good reasons oh and welcome to FFXIV, " Newer Player ".

And for what its worth, I like the Sam changes too. Yes, I main Sam and raid on it.

No its pretty universal here, in discord channels and on reddit. Congrats being the 1 out of 100 that likes it, though it doesn't appear that sam is your main so your opinion is taken with a grain of salt.
