Yeah I tried doing that too but it didn't seem to work. Thanks for getting it done for me though. Not sure if I just kept doing a stupid mistake or perhaps the forum hates me...or a bit of both.

With social media and instant messaging nowadays all allowing you to upload images with your message, the official forum is definitely a relic from a bygone era that requires you to host images from a separate service.

It's becoming rarer for websites to provide the service of an image host; many websites that allow you to upload images nevertheless block linking to images from elsewhere, as bandwidth can be expensive if the image is embedded onto a popular website.
