Very disappointed in this. At least in casual mode you should be allowed to queue with 1 other friend.

Totally agree that they need to open up the queue to parties. There are ways to use matchmaking systems to keep matches fair. Things like having hidden MMRs for each player, then when players party up, the system disregards the lowest X amount of MMRs in the party based off party size, and matches up. Or even just forcing parties of X size to get paired up against parties of the same size.
Most solutions will run into problems, though, if player population is too small. But making the queue systems around pvp worse *doesn't* help pvp player population sizes.
I agree immensely, it doesn't make sense to only have a solo queue, as it could very well have two separate queues (solo/duo and for full teams).
I don't think you understand, we're not talking about mixing teams against solo players, but dividing solo queues and team queues (team queues can be with 2 to 5 players)Nope, 5v5 needs fair matches. Getting steamrolled by 5 stacks isn't fun. Even Duo's grant a massive advantage. Hopefully they add a full premade vs. premade queue option, but stacks going against solo queues isn't fair. If you want to pvp with your friends, you can play frontlines. This particular mode is solo queue for now, in order to keep things fair
I see no issue adding the ability to que up with others in either ranked or casual
it literally doesn't matter if you lose anyway in casual you will progress the battle pass regardless so who cares if teams steam roll.
Yeah this doesn't cater to people that like PVP this caters to the people that just want the rewards from PVP. I don't care to go against a duos or trios. Not being able to play with friends makes it impossible for the PVP to stay alive. Also frontlines is the worst PVP of any mmo, its silly to consider that as an option.Nope, 5v5 needs fair matches. Frontline the worst? Ehhhhh I'd take FL over PSO2s pvp anydayYeah this doesn't cater to people that like PVP this caters to the people that just want the rewards from PVP. Why can't they do what overwatch does?
2 stacks queue vs other 2 stacks, and so on.
This isn't a small indie company
Good to see other people have similar thoughts on not having group queue for the new PvP mode. If you don't want that in ranked matches, fine, that's understandable. But it really should be rethought to include semi or full party queues in casual mode. Because that's what it's supposed to be, casual and for fun without the worry of ranking. Let people who want to queue together do so so the mode doesn't die insanely quickly once people finish their series rewards for the patch!
We are dealing with a company whos experience with pvp balance is...middling at best. Given the state of the uncapped roles and how some team comps are just designated wins against others without the less favorable comp having to massively overperform or the opponents have to just have no idea whats going on but, all things player skill being equal uncapped roles can lead to guaranteed losses. With all that said, and with much larger issues like that fundamentally, well designed MMR and queueing systems are not something id expect them to get right in light of *waves hand* everything else happening here.
