Yeah, I like most of your ideas here. It is a beta version of this feature, so hopefully they listen to feedback (granted my expectations are at an all time low there) and add more options in the future. It's a great feature, and there's so many ways they could improve and expand on it that it's hard to name them all.
Besides just more appearance options and portrait slots which are a given, some things I'd like to see:
- More control over the information on the plate (e.g. being able to hide some of the currently displayed information, and choices for other things to display instead e.g. job levels, mount/minion/card collections, favourite mount/minion/orchestrion roll, top 3-5 jobs, etc, etc)
- Being able to save multiple plate setups and switch between them automatically with gearset links
- Portraits showing up in more content (maybe optionally)
- More possible poses for portraits including job actions, or at least the battle stance/victory pose emotes
As for problems, there's a lot of bugs with portrait creation which I guess is to be expected as a beta version. As most have discovered the face detection requirement is pretty wonky and it's not that hard to make a portrait where the character's face is not visible at all. An understandable restriction but still a bit of a shame for me who just wanted to make some cool ones. I'm also curious to see if and how the blatantly erotic portraits might be moderated.
I'm also not sure if portraits being automatically unlinked when the associated gearset is updated is meant to be the final design of that feature, because it's really annoying. It'd be much nicer if updating a gearset could also simply update the associated portrait. And even that's only because the current portrait system can't save a gear appearance for more than one portrait. Ideally every portrait would simply show the gear you were wearing when it was saved, or could optionally be set to always reflect your current appearance.
There's a lot of bugs related to saving them. I can save 1 portrait but when I copy or use it, it won't portray accurately. Sometimes, it wont display weapon glows either. Very common problem when you change the field of view slider.
Overall it's a clunky system to interact with, especially the Instant Portraits requiring precisely identical gearsets, even breaking if you change your headgear visibility.
Frames, accents/emblems/stickers, backgrounds need a lot more content too. Wider range of motion for the camera would be nice also. Most of the accents/stickers are ugly, too large, and can't be manipulated. I'd at least like to resize them. The Umbra/Astra emblems are good examples that take up like half the portrait and are almost unusable.
I would also like to select specific values by typing and not using a slider.
As for "erotic" portraits, I really don't care. I believe a lot of people are just making them to be funny and they'll get less popular over time. If it's really a problem, and I seriously doubt it is, then just make it optional to make portraits appear as Default on your client for Crystal Conflict, since they're not used anywhere else.

I love it and try to look at everyone's. I'm just said my middie can't bend over like other races.

They were looking for battle designers, and I like what they did to Prae, really. If they can continue good battle design at higher levels it will be nice. Quality over quantity.
The new PvP has turned out excellent. Really good.
Adventure plates are fun, fun.
The changes to RMT housing seem to have worked, they've gone in a tiny bit hard on ratio although they can loosen it.
20 glam plates can't be over looked
Ticks on things you already have
It's been a great patch all-in-all

It would be appreciated if my current glam was not imposed onto the portrait every time I edit it, I'm just trying to adjust the angle or lighting, I'm not attempting to re-do the glam being displayed.
Beyond that, I'd very much like it if it didn't care about the gear on my gear set. When I'm on X job, apply this instant portrait that I specify. I do not want to have to redo the gear-set-link every time I switch to one of my three glam plates for this single job.
In fact, I'd like to be able to apply a single instant portrait to multiple jobs/gear sets and still not care about the actual gear being shown. <This> instant portrait I created works for several jobs, just apply it. It's okay if the gear is different, just apply it anyway.
Stop breaking the link over such small things, please. It'd be vastly more preferable if the instant portrait link simply would not un-link itself at all. If it turns out something looks different than what I intended, I'll happily make the adjustment myself.

This I have to agree with because every time I change jobs it defaults back to the basic gray. The adventurer plates is a great addition to the game. I really enjoyed playing with the G-pose tool like in order to customise as much as possible the card.
However...
I'd like to request a "report button" on adventurer plate, because i've seen many abuse of people just showing their butt in those 2B Leggings... or doing some almost "explicit" image on those by using the "mogs" to hide some part of the body.
I like to look at other's adventurer plate, but I literraly see a butt every 30 seconds.... This is breaking the system and will sooner or later backfire on the community on the internet by saying that FFXIV player are just doing ERP all the time.

I ran hundreds of CC matches over the course of a few days. Only 2 stood out to me as suggestive. I don't doubt that players are doing it, but I sincerely doubt it's as bad as you claim. Either way it doesn't bother me, within reason. I'm sure there are a few people out there who take it a step too far, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were reported. Heck, Zepla released a video today talking about adventure plates. She got a laugh out of a couple of them, and I'm sure she was far from alone, but they were both definitely...inappropriate by most standards. I wouldn't have cared, but it's not hard to see why some do. But I also doubt that it's a huge problem overall. The adventurer plates is a great addition to the game. I'm fine with risqué and mild levels of spice personally. I would like to see the ones that clearly try to look explicit get reprimanded. I've seen one that is obviously meant to look like they're performing a certain action with their mouth in the region of the loins of the viewer from the angle they took.I ran hundreds of CC matches over the course of a few days. Yeah, this is pretty much my take as well. There absolutely are some that deliberately push the envelope beyond what some people are comfortable with. But most have been perfectly fine (and I'm actually still seeing a bunch of standard default portraits as well). It's also worth keeping in mind that this is a new feature and some people are just doing what they can to get a rise out of others. It's not that different from when they first let male characters wear some dresses and you'd see males in Limsa wearing a bright pink dress because they know it bothered some people. Or when the 2B leggings first came out and every male Roe in Limsa was wearing them. Sure you still see a few Hrothgar in dresses and Roe in 2B leggings but the vast majority of people who did that have moved on to something else.I ran hundreds of CC matches over the course of a few days. I wouldn't have any issue with the most egregious examples getting dealt with but I doubt we'll even be talking about this in a months time.
