I couldn't care less if there's some big rework in the making come 7.0 necessitating Kaiten's removal. Make that change in 7.0 not in 6.1 where we now have this hollowed out job for two years. Although, I don't think Kaiten should be removed whatsoever. At this point, it feels like they did it purely for baby players struggling without any thought on just how much it would impact how Samurai feels.

    I only recently started playing SAM (level 65), but even I can tell that this is not a good change at all. When I started to really get into the SAM rotation I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, and now without Kaiten it just feels... off.

    Please revert this, the majority of people are clearly against this change.

    To me its not just about removal of Kaiten (I also couldnt add what others havent said already)

    I'm starting to be legit afraid of the current trend of the jobs going forward. And this is mainly because how drastic changes they went with my second fav SHB job... summoner. I just couldnt believe it. One of the most complex jobs of SHB to optimize reduced to like 3 buttons and few cooldowns..

    This and coming from WoW (vanilla - cata, not recent "refugee") the whole "just remove few buttons due bloat" started small there too.. and now theres massive changes to rotations that makes the jobs there feel like what we have in PvP. Maidenl-.. I mean, Buttonless.

    Revert the Changes Pls.

    Kaiten's removal Just feels terrible and completely throws off the bar management in your kit. The removal of Kaiten also makes the rotation feel boring and way to simplified.

    Yeah I kinda hate it.

    I hate homogenizing the cones into PBAOEs. I get that its' more efficient, it just doesn't feel as fun.

    I hate hate hate losing Kaiten because Kenki just feels spammier than ever (it was already kinda spammy). But most of all I loved the wind-up animation. It looked so freaking cool. Now it's just nowhere to be found and it's kinda depressing.

    I've been subscribed since patch 2.2 and have not felt dissatisfied enough to post on the official forums before now. Four second Third Eye and potency-neutral movement skills can stay; those are good. Everything else for samurai should be reverted.

    A lot of non-samurai players are boiling the changes down to removing one superfluous button. That's not what happened. Kaiten is not the samurai version of dragoon's Life Surge. Kaiten has been replaced with an excessive amount of Shinten spamming, a style of play that was very deliberately moved away from years ago. The big hits the class was designed for are now nothing to get excited about at all. The entire rotation feels like filler now.

    Since they seem worried about critical hit variance on big hits, I guess we can look forward to changes to reaper's Communio (1000 potency), summoner's Ahk Morn and Revelation (1300), gunbreaker's Double Down (1200), dancer's Technical Finish (1200), monk's Phantom Rush (1150), and white mage's Afflatus Misery (1240). Yes, even whm has bigger hits than sam (yes that was a good change for them). If all of these are problematic due to crits, change how crit works.

    I didn't expect to hate this change as much as I do. Literally made a forum account just to contribute to the voices speaking out against it. Removing Kaiten has completely ruined both the feel and flow of the job. Please revert the change as soon as possible. Literally nobody asked for this.

    I'm heartened by the number of fellow SAM players who are also completely new to the forum who all have taken the time to voice their displeasure with these changes. Here's hoping the dev team understands how big of an issue this is and does the necessary reversions.

    I'm in the same boat where this is the first time I'm unhappy enough with a patch to make a forum account. Agreed with pretty much everything you neatly listed there except for gapcloser being used for damage.
