    Somanoutics (and Arcanima)

I've been trying to find stuff on the mechanics of how Sage's nouliths actually manipulate aether in the lore. I've seen musings that it might be similar to Arcanima -> Using arcane geometries to manipulate unaspected aether for healing and occasional damaging results, but instead of the arcane geometries being visualised and drawn in aetherially conductive ink, the nouliths physically trace out these geometries.

Beyond that musing, I can't find much more than the job description: "... which draws upon the wisdom of aetherology, sorcery, and medicine. Dubbed somanoutics, the art seeks to heal and protect by manipulating corporeal aether through the use of nouliths, a flying array of foci..."

Does anybody have any lore reference points for this?

As close as I can figure it, it's essentially the same as an AST using their star globe to focus aether (notice how an AST's star globe hovers above their hands?), so the nouliths are basically just a focal point the SGE's aether flows through to it's target, essentially becoming so attuened to the user that they move according to their thought, and thus require a certain level of aetherial attunement to function right (Alphinaud showed this when it took him a little bit to get the hang of using nouliths at the start, and even more so adjusting to using his father's ones).

I'm not really that sure though as I haven't really played as SGE, other than unlocking the Job, so any level 90 SGEs please clarify or pick apart my comments by all means!

It also seems the term 'noulith' is something of a general term, as it appears there are plenty of items functioning as them that do not look like the pointed 'crystal cone things' the Sharlayans use - I've seen one SGE arms that were basically small trumpets for instance - so it seems that the actual structure or physical shape of them is not necessarily important, but merely something that can fit the required aetheric signature which allows a SGE to manipulate them telekenitically.... or maybe I'm just rambling nonsense again.
