    What would you do?

Two alliance were neck in neck in points. The alliance you're in for some reason wants to keep attacking the 3rd place team instead of focusing on the team thats leading. This caused your alliance to be flanked on both sides constantly. The leading alliance have a decent shot caller because they moved really well around the battlefield. They were always flanking but never flanked.

You have a shot caller too but they didn't make any direct commands thats comparable to the enemy's shot caller. Veteran players notice that person's inexperience and started giving warning of their own hoping to change the tide of battle. Warnings were ignored and soon your alliance was in a deadlock with the losing team. Your shot caller was chatty when kills were made and points were rising in the beginning but when things went south your shot caller was silent. Veteran players saw this and helped giving commands but was ignored because some BRD and MCH kept on attacking a retreating losing alliance stragglers earning the ire of the losing alliance to focus on YOUR alliance 100%.

You notice your impending doom as an alliance. You the player, open your map and saw that the winning team was drinking tea at the last big ice. You urged your alliance to pay attention to the winning team and stop attacking the losing team. Ignored again. The big ice started its countdown and your shot caller was oblivious to the situation. You and many other veteran players focus on trying to change the outcome by taking the fight back to the winning the winning team. You pinged to the alliance to go north. They ignored you. You and the others tried to kill the breakfeast club members guarding the entrance but was overwhelmed by the whole alliance. They started shaving the last big ice. Uncontested they would earn around 300 points jumping into a huge lead over your alliance.

    Your alliance had two choices:

    1. Stay and fight with the losing alliance getting more Battle Highs while letting the leading team take that big ice hoping that after the ice is broken that you can overwhelm them with your Battle Highs-assuming that your team is getting kills.

    2. Sacrifice a few stragglers in your alliance to shake the losing team off your tail in order to shave a piece of that Big Ice from the leading team since one alliance in your FC was already in position needing only 1 more alliance to make up the numbers to try to fight for the ice.

Both of these choices would result in the leading team getting a huge lead no matter what. What would you have done? I'm being serious here don't make bratty comments. I want to learn what better players do in situations like this. I see this as a total lost already.

Usually the objective takes priority, if there is a small group tunnel visioning on kills then leave them to get overwhelmed, they’ll soon get the message and rejoin the main group.

However, pvp is dynamic content and there’s no one size fits all answer. Maybe the leading team was some pre-made group that would just melt your team even if you went over there so you’d not only lose the ice but also just feed them even more points, in that case maybe leaving them to the ice and powering up by farming the weaker team for points and battle highs was the right call. Situational awareness is key and you can only use your best judgement but sometimes there just isn’t a right call, only one team can win of the three teams in there and there are a lot of factors out of your control contributing to that.

Impossible to know 100%. The situation is kinda f**** it seems like. But, if the entire alliance follow the caller, I would say go all out on 3rd team and get BHs (unless your small team of vets are confident you can make a difference on the ice). With the BHs you could get the lead back with kills.

But it sounds like to me that your team is in stalemate with the 3rd team, and even you vets don't make a difference? If that's the case, if you can't convince your entire alliance to focus on the ice, you're f****. 'Cause you vets won't probably make a difference on the ice either.

lol You're right, we didn't make a difference. I agree with one of the calls and I think it's the right choice no matter how many times I look at. Assuming that the alliance listens and follows you in a timely manner-sacrificing a few players is worth it if you can reduce the total points 1st place would've gotten from shattering that big ice. The situation was messed up like you and the other commentator would imagine. The issue here is that they didn't move in a timely manner and only moved when the ice was about to be destroyed already which made the move pretty much useless.
