    Those are some incredibly low prices, considering the potential to sidestep all competition and no need to maintain a subscription. This is a good option to sink some gil out of the economy - if anything it should probably be more expensive than the equivalent house (especially for the tier that has a higher item limit than any house that exists!) for the benefit of permanency. It does mean you'd want to add a 'relocation' option for apartments - but really, that should have already existed.

    I just love the instant elitism that suggestions to give lowly plebians who didn't luck out or wake up a 4am to click a button for 9 hours any sort of semblance of housing brings.

    What is it about this housing system that makes people think they're fortune 500 CEOS and everyone else is just a bug for them to step on? lmao

    The current apartment system is already much lower-priced than houses. I won't speculate on the reasons why Square Enix priced apartments this way, but the prices I (and others) suggested for the upgrades were in that same line of pricing. What price point would you suggest?

    The entry level being low makes sense, but upgrades start to push it into the realm of luxury content. There's a real argument that housing placard prices are themselves too low, but that ship has been sailing neglected long enough that it's more or less sunk, so.. the more I think about it, the more I think relative parity is the answer that will keep the most people happy without invalidating one set of content or the other.

    So: easiest way to do this would be a direct simulation of house layouts, floors and room structure and all. That also means the prices should probably reflect at least the fifth-class prices of houses. Upgrades should be progressively priced so that you're paying the same amount to get to a 'tier' regardless of whether you buy it immediately or work your way up through the sizes, so something like..

    [fifth-class plot equivalent pricing]
    500k - entry price, same as normal (100 il)
    2.5m (total 3m) - entry -> small upgrade (200 il)
    13m (total 16m) - small -> medium upgrade (300 il)
    24m (total 40m) - medium -> large upgrade (400 il)

    Past that, you're in the realm of truly uncharted ground. Any larger sizes or item limits or extra rooms don't exist, so pricing can honestly be whatever you want. As far as item limits go, there's already a strong argument that item levels should honestly be raised across the board so that meds/larges can have the same item density as smalls - if the database can handle it, packaging in item limit upgrades to something like 150/250/400/600 wouldn't be remiss. (After all, you're shooting for the moon here in the first place, right?)

    Some of those optional ideas would also depend on your specifications for them - for instance, would you want a garden room to scale to upgrade size, or be something you upgrade independently, or forever just one garden plot? Either way, you want to strongly consider the potential downsides of making the apartment into something with economical impact, and what you price that at. (My gut feeling is somewhere around 2m - enough to make it a long-term proposition to achieve an ROI on, but not so high to be unaffordable on smaller plots - but opinions may vary.)
