Also you say "hyping up content", but I fail to see what content this game has that demands 15 dollars a month to access. It's clear the game is on life support for a couple of years now because they are siphoning money off of it for FF16. Raids? Watered down to nothing. Dungeons? Less than half the volume of what it was prior to Shadowbringers. Open world? Does not exist. Jobs? "It's too hard for our tiny brains to wrap our heads around decent class design so lol". Only "content" they seem to be capable of is a story that's not as good as some single-player games but requires 15 dollars a month and full box price to access, and "leveling". And once all of that is done? "Yoshida said you can unsub and come back whenever you want xd". I want to know the "coming back" rate of players that unsubbed from this game. I can't imagine that's a lot given it barely has anything for people to come back to for the premium it demands for access.

Also you talked about SE not addressing issues. Clearly feedback or players that are not "influencers" or "journalists" don't matter if you are outside JP. Connection issues and packet loss for years in NA and EU? "Get off of that wi-fi xd". Lobby issues? "Get off of that wi-fi xd". Connection issues in JP? "Give us your network logs and we will contact ISPs right now". Feedback of any kind that does not raise a stink in social media or outside forums? "lol keep crying, we have better things to do like milking as much cash off of you as possible". I have not seen another company that is so blatantly against other regions that still gets puts on a pedestal undeservedly by a playerbase in a parasocial relation with it.

Coming to think of it, the BLM PvP changes were addressed that quickly because of some memes. I guess it's time to make memes on social media about this company's incompetence and I imagine there will be responses in double time.
I'd unsub and come back for major patch cycles maybe.... but it's just easier to keep a yearly sub auto-paid... also, I have a personal and fc house to ensure doesn't get demolished.

Being held hostage by house demolition, classic.

Something that shouldn't even be a thing in the game. Really messes with players who tend to dip in and out between monthly subs. Not everybody can stay subbed to this game year around. They want to respect a player's time and not lock them into be invested in the game, then they really should start working on ways to actually resolving the housing issue.

The lottery system, in my opinion, was a great way to finally give players a healthier way to get a house. But they need to keep going and think of more ways to improve opportunities for everyone to own a house of some sort in every conceivable way possible.

Apartments are nice for players who just want the basic indoor system without the submarine feature and such.

Keep putting out more choices in housing types across the game and everyone will eventually have their own preferred type of home.

Back on topic though, I'm looking forward to the devs finally being forced to realize a couple years down the line that making everything accessible to everyone is a seriously unhealthy mindset when designing an MMO.

WoW has a huge problem with leaning way to hard in designing all their content to hardcore players, while FFXIV leans just as hard in the other direction when it comes to casual content and accessibility.

Again, the devs, after finally realizing going so hard in the direction of making everything casual accessible is actually a terrible idea need to focus on striking a balance between the former and hardcore content so they can actually achieve a more realistic goal of appealing to "everyone" without alienating either side so much and thus causing the natural creation of midcore content for players who are stuck inbetween either one.

Samurai has always been a relatively easy job to pick up and a fun experience to master when wanting to get down all those little secret nuances the job has. Streamlining it suddenly because it hits too hard and your devs being too afraid to think outside the self limiting role boxes they put themselves in shouldn't be used as an excuse to butcher the appeal of the job.

The new PvP jobs show the job designing side of the devs that they can make something uinque and great. They just need to treat each job, such as Samurai as a unique branch within the role they are placed under and not just "BEEP BOOP! MELEE DPS #3! BEEP BOP".
