Assuming you're engaging in good faith:
If you really want button bloat reduction there are many other solutions that offer no downsides whatsoever.

Shoha 1 upgrades into Shoha 2, thats one button there.

Senei and Guren are now "replacements" for Shinten and Kyuten when you obtain a buff from Ikishoten, like Ogi Namikiri Ready, called "Hissatu: Ready"
This changes Shinten and Kyuten into Senei and Guren respectively, while also removing the possibility for the CD's being seperate and drifting, lowering the skill floor in a way that everyone likes.
That's TWO buttons!

Ikishoten changes into Ogi / Kaeshi Naimikiri upon execution.
One more button!

People are upset because there are better solutions, that are SORELY needed. Not a weird idea that came out of left field.
