    It's a shame because Samurai was going to be my main melee DPS after not really enjoying the Monk changes. Kaiten was such a fun skill to use with the entire kit but now the resource bar feels as useless as Scholar's fairy gauge. Hopefully the devs are able to understand the complaints of people that enjoyed 6.0x Samurai and are willing to adjust their perspective a little and bring Kaiten back.

This is the kinda shit that should've come in 7.0 with the new abilities he's telling players to look forward to. Gutting the Job from 6.1 to 7.0 while offering nothing in return is such a bad idea, and it's embarrassing that a dev team that brags about "playing the game" and "listening to players" can fuck up so badly.
    Some job mechanics should simply be considered core parts of the kit. The outcry over kaiten shows that it was one of those mechanics. All they have to do for future skills is put “not affected by kaiten” in the tooltip. It’s not like sen and midares are going anywhere and kaiten and Kenki interact with that at a fundamental level. Please stop removing the flavor from jobs. At least wait until there’s something to replace it

    100% agree. The autocrit is nice, but the shit we lost to get it is ridiculous. Yes there was a huge damage variance before in crits vs noncrits, but this is not the way to fix it. Samurai feels so much less satisfying to play. Revert back to 6.08 Samurai.

    Hey folks. There's been a lot of talks regarding, you guessed it, the removal of Kaiten and the flattened damage curve. Speculations of the complete removal of the Kenki system are showing up more often. People are baffled this was put in instead of the much asked for return of Starry Eyes / Seigan, which was requested back in early access. You'd just have Third Eye change to one of them.

    One other point, "numbers", if you get what I'm saying. People have noticed Samurai are pretty scarce there.

    There is a lot of waiting and anxiety happening. We're all still waiting for a reply after the development team asked us to tell them if they went too far or not. That was repeated several times, so I guess we need to repeat it several times too. Adjusting jobs so both short and long term enjoyment is preserved? If this is the case, they have failed far more times than I care to count. I think many have been patient enough here, more than just Samurai obviously, don't derail the thread towards that please. Supposedly they have read the comments on homogenization, they just ignore it because "they want to push for it as much as they can". Their idea of giving us new is taking away the old.

    I asked my WoW friend who doesn't play FF14 what exactly happened in WoW so he has no strings attached to this game. He described exactly what is happening to FF14's job balance right now. If you stay quiet even a little bit, they'll take it as acceptance, some believe. So let's continue making some noise. "I know I won't get away by avoiding this matter."

    I miss Seigan. I miss Kaiten. I miss old Dark Arts, but everyone I spoke to loved that it was changed.

    I will stand by my suggestions as things I personally want and would love to see returned or done to the job of SAM.

    Our GCDs feel empty. Our Iaijutsu feel hollow. Why were the potencies spread to the GCDs to the point where it doesn't even feel like the thing we're supposed to be building towards has no impact? Make the iaijutsu strong again. Fix Tenka Goken. It should not be a circle. Casts should NOT be used in the center of dungeon mobs.

    Try implementing similar button transformations as WAR has. Ikishoten is just the SAM equivalent to Infuriate. 50 gauge and grants access to a super strong move. Make Ogi Namikiri become one of our existing buttons (like Ikishoten). Make Senei and Guren a transformation on the Shinten and Kyuten buttons (from Ikishoten)

    Make Third Eye become Merciful Eyes. Make Shinten turn into Seigan from proper Third Eye use.

    Give us up to 5 meditation stacks so Shoha and Shoha 2 can be on a single button based on the number of meditation stacks we have.

    Bring back Kaiten and make the crit come from that. But I'd prefer if they kept our big hits actually big. That was the whole point of the job and building up resource like that. By flattening the damage we've just turned into worse MNK it seems.

    Literally every one of these is, at worst, a good idea worth exploring. Just hitting the like button wasn't enough.

As someone else pointed in one of these threads, if every class can clear content, there will still be those that are superior to others and in this case...Machinist can't get by on just being the 1% stat buff when Bard and Dancer also execute that role just fine.

    Forget welcome to Stormblood, this was Shadowbringers and Endwalker also...not the most common, but nobody with at least two brain cells denies a dragoon for example, period.

    Sup folks. No real interesting topics today, just the usual asking for Kaiten back and the 6.08 rollback (for Samurai).

    With patch day creeping up, I feel most are waiting in anticipation to see what SE has silently decided to do before deciding what their next action will be. Make no mistake, if there is no change, you can't stay quiet. It will just end up like the rest of the jobs.

    I felt that this quote was pretty memorable, so I'd like to post it here. If you measure skill on a gradient scale, no matter what you do, there is a top and a bottom. If you keep hacking away at the top, there will be nothing left.
