Thread: Patch 6.1 - Machinist Changes Feedback

6.1 buffs was yet another slap in the face for MCH. SE seems to be afraid to give MCH too much. Wildfire used to be a key ability to MCH and so far has been very low for our overall DPS in a fight for the past two expansion. Honestly the whole physical range role needs to change before we probably see anything worthwhile happen to the jobs.

Mobility has to be cut via Blast Charge but managing Heat would become more important than ever since it would be less about bursting but more like Triplecast. Dismantle would return to give a little extra support but nothing too big compared to the other Physical Ranged so it still is considered selfish in a sense while still maintaining the Physical Ranged role as being more supportive than the others. More details contained within.

I'm sorry, but I really dislike this idea. Just the idea of Blast Charge being a thing in PvE is enough to throw me off.

It also feels like you're trying to turn it a lot into a copy of BLM, and I would like to avoid having more job homogenization if possible.

What is MCH if nothing but the patron saint of butchery, same with SMN it shows that smaller jobs with less mechanics are superior in terms of numbers. MCH in SHB basically had a 100% approval rating now that they added 1 GCD to it everyone’s pissed? Doesn’t make sense. And if MCH was so good in SHB why can’t they cleave every other job to fit the mold? SAM without kaiten, NIN trick attack warp, DRG positional rewards removed, MNK positional removed period, BRD dots relevance removed, DNC Aoes removed from ST fights, SMN dots and aetherflow loop removed.

Every change has been to achieve the lofty heights of MCH broad appeal and praise. In theory this should’ve made everyone happy. Now anyone can play any job without the fear of “mastery” or “challenge” or even “tangibility”
