    Oh yeah, Queen AI. Another thing I forgot to mention, probably because it's more minor and not relevant very often but I remember malding about it in Hydaelyn EX at the very least.

    Sometimes I wonder why I play this job with all its issues, but the fixes to make it so much better, are so simple (since in most cases it'd just bring it back in line with consistent job design) and are surely implementable without much hassle. That's been recently proven with other jobs getting stacks for their key abilities. Mind-blowing how none of this seems to be even getting looked at.

    These are my opinions, take them with a grain of salt. The MCH buffs account for roughly a 2.4% potency increase, on average Mch have been roughly 5-6% behind other ranged physical while also not providing any raid/party support. The range tax is no longer a valid reason for such a drastic difference in dps, positionals in melee are constantly being removed or adjusted, most fight mechanics lately do not affect melee uptime much and even a competent blm can be as mobile as a machinist. MCH is like the only job without a gap closer or jump back. they are one of, if not the only, jobs to not have a self heal or dmg mitigation outside of a role ability. Even the other "selfish DPS" bring more in terms of self utility/support than the machinist. The two main abilities of mch are disjointed and anticlimactic. wildfire/heatblast can not crit or direct hit & the burst window is extremely ping dependent and unforgiving. the AQ attacks random targets, not what you're targeting and is pretty much a glorified DoT. Removing the old style turrets was a huge mistake in my opinion. I understand the developers dont like "pet classes" but a large portion of the players do and want them from what Ive seen. Mch and Smn should be able to have a "pet" that actually does something, even if its just a auto basic attack, considering Scholars get a fairy that can auto heal. Flamethrower is a throw away ability, because it stops all movement, and even rotating in place cancels the action, which goes against mch supposedly being a super mobile job. The Devs need to decide if they want MCH to be a selfish dps or a support class and need to retool it to fit whichever that is. They stripped away a lot of what made the mch class feel unique and special with ShB and while some things have been changed for the better rotation wise, there is a lot that leaves much to be desired considering how the changes, fixes and attention the other jobs get.

    From a Machinist main point of view at least.

    I love playing my MCH. I have a lot of fun solo or in groups.
    When I see all the forum's Sheldon Cooper's arguing over quantum mechanics in the game I get a glazed look and yawn.
    When did you people stop having fun?
    It's a video game. Just because you have a direct link with NASA to help you through near impossible mechanics, doesn't mean the normal average player also does.
    The company strikes a fine balance between making the game playable by normal casuals, and some harder stuff like high end raids for those who are surgically attached to their keyboards.
    Chill...relax. It's...a...video...GAME.

    1. Some people enjoy and have fun having these conversations. It's part of the game experience for them.
    2. You dont enjoy them, dont come into the threads and read them. No one's forcing you to come to the forums.
    3. Balancing the jobs is part of the game. That's why the devs do it. These comments are from players discussing the issues with the current balance of the jobs within the game.
    4. The devs "supposedly" read the forums and feedback. So if a large portion of players of a certain job are commenting on a shared opinion, the devs can "supposedly" look at it and adjust as needed.

    Its not that difficult to understand why these threads exist. And Im a machinist main, I can acknowledge the problems within the job and still enjoy playing, Im not glued to my keyboard, I just happen to like to post or comment when I have free time. Its the same principle of why people post on IG, Twitter. We're having conversations and getting perspectives from people we normally wouldn't "IRW"

    Also true. We are also quite fragile due to only having Second Wind and Phys-ranged as a whole neither have additional physical or magical defence, but at least BRD/DNC have something to compensate for that.

    And Dragonlancer, that's some low-quality bait.

    I don't know nothing about the current state of MCH but I hope y'all get the right kind of changes to make MCH actually competitive in the ranged dps role. Looks like this patch won't be the one however.

    These buffs are so inconsequential it's starting to feel like an insult. They really need to figure out what they want MCH to be. If it's going to be a pure damage dealer it needs to actually be able to bring that damage, either that or give it some utility and party buffs to bring it in line with the other ranged physical DPS.
    Personally I would prefer it stays as a pure damage dealer but it needs way more than these weak buffs. They seem terrified that they might accidentally over tune the job.

    (Also how has Flamethrower still not been buffed?)

    After seeing our new toys in PvP, I'd honestly be all for Flamethrower taking up the functionality of Barrel Stabilizer (generates heat), and turning Barrel Stabs into Analysis, allowing some kind of modification on our various tools similar to how Eukrasia works for Sage.
