They do read feedback. Just because they don't respond to every single instance doesn't mean they are unaware.

They have access to far more data than we do, in terms of how people play.

Maybe they're not interpreting that data correctly then? Or rather, they're not interpreting it in a way some players wish they did? Reminds me of some live letters in the past where Yoshi would read a question but slight language barriers made him misconstrue some questions and ultimately dismiss the concern. In this case, perhaps the context behind some of the metrics are just not apparent enough to the developers for them to act on it.

As an example, anyone remember the old days were you were at the mercy of rng to collect glamor from old dgns and despite asking on the forums repeatedly to do something about, it wasn't until an interviewer directly pointed how he and his friends were trying desperatly to farm sets from old dgns, which made Yoshi acknowledge the issue and work on it? Sure, maybe he was planning on always doing it but back then, it just like how our constant request to make old glam farming easier fall on deaf ears.

This thread is a pretty accurate survey of people willing to pay a monthly subscription fee to participate on an online forum, so at least you now have the data on that.

Now, I'll start by saying that I have been playing this game for almost a decade and have never been sent a survey asking my opinion on pretty much anything related to game. I've certainly spoken up about what I'd like to see added or changed though such was never framed as a demand.

Meanwhile, I was sent one after only playing 3 months on a trial account. I assumed everyone got one, so I particularly feel bad for veterans who've never received one while I did. It would imply it's not only RNG, but also not restricted to paying accounts unless it turns out it was a trial only survey. The questions I remember were about my interest in EW and their social media presence, so it's possible.

I mostly only care about the story, I don't do end game content or PvP. I'm an altoholic and used to years of WoW effing up classes every expansion, so the state of jobs doesn't bother me when I can easily switch to something else for a while. I already know I'm in the minority for not liking EW. :P

More data and more surveys is always interesting/good though, even if it likely won't tell me anything that pertains to my preferred playstyle.

No I got one as well. Filled out with very detailed info on why it would make sense to upgrade the graphics and I feel heard. My only problem now is how monotonous the game feels. But that is a topic for other threads.

There are some common sentiments being echoed on the forums, like the healer design being dull as heck, the botting issues going largely unaddressed, etc.

Yet for some reason they seem to just repeatedly gloss over certain things. It particularly doesn't look very good when it takes people directly bringing up a matter like the rampant RMT spam on party finder in an interview to get the devs to do anything about it when they should've been aware of it years ago if the associated teams were communicating with them properly.

That's an excellent point. I've personally seen many people around these parts bring up the issues with cheating in this game both in regards to botting and win trading in ranked PvP. There's also been a lot of threads about the issue of public ERP/advertising player brothels which should have been dealt with as harshly as how players are dealt with if they commit the supposed 'sin' of telling a player what to do in a dungeon run.

I personally don't think they effectively compile the data at all. Just my thoughts on how the company has been ran the past 3 years.

I get a similar impression. They do conduct surveys but what they ask in those (are they the right questions? is the sampling being done correctly? etc) and, even more so, what they do with them, is anyone's guess... they're certainly a method they could use more if there are concerns about sites like this, Reddit or Twitter not being reflective of the entire playerbase's views, but even then, I'd like to see them be transparent about what that data is telling them. They're a very large, well resourced company at the end of the day. I'd also like to see more engagement from CMs and a return of the kind of discussion of polling/survey data they used to do on the forum in ye olde days.

I personally would simply like to see the numbers to know if generally my thoughts on the game are wrong. This way I know if I want to stay subscribed to this game or move on in the future because I'll know which way the wind is blowing.

I'd love to see the numbers as well, and I'd love them to go deeper into why they make the decisions they make but let's not kid ourselves here. Most of those who claim to "want to see the numbers" are really just trying to say that they believe the hidden, obfuscated numbers will support their own perspectives and causes.

I think they just want to see the basis of the decisions, that's all. We keep being told sites like this and a few others are a vocal minority of the playerbase, so it'd be instructive to see more systematically collected data - if it exists - to see where the general sentiment really lies. We've seen some really strange decisions come out of the company lately, so yes, I would like to understand what the basis of these is beyond the usual PR speak. Like the poster I quoted above, it's more about seeing where the wind is blowing.

Ya know, I'd be all on the train that they listen to feedback if the ping issue had been sorted out far earlier. The fact that they didn't even know about it is sad. On top of that the second fact that players literally helped mitigate the problem for free, for their fellows.
