    Crystalline Conflict Focus Attack Quick Chat Removal Inquiry

    Hail fellow well met!

    Preliminary patch notes for patch 6.1 were posted a few minutes ago and some of us PvP players have noticed the removal of "Focus Attack" from the quick chat.

    Humbly speaking, we believe "Focus Attack" is important for coordinating in PvP and should be reintroduced to allow for ranked players to coordinate their competitive matches better for their teams.

    Granted, the mode isn't out yet so we have yet to determine if "Focus Attack" would be necessary in the new game mode. We would just like this concern of ours to be acknowledged and visited upon again during the coming days once Crystalline Conflict is up and running. We look forward for a prosperous future for small-scale PvP.

    Agreed. I don't see a realm where it would not be used as bursts are the best way to KO an enemy, especially with the constant healing through the new Recuperate. Without it, players are just going to end up falling back on the old countdown macros they used before, so taking it out was a moot point.

    I honestly wish they would just stop with the quick chat thing and just bring back normal chat. Yes, some pvpers are toxic, but who cares? There's an ignore feature that exists for a reason.

    I personally disagree. Not only does the quick chat options provide fast, audio queued, communication. It also prevents some salty player from stopping mid 5min match to type an essay on why they think their team is losing. Though as a middle ground, I would love there to be open chat communication pre match start to briefly discuss strategy, and post match to discuss what had gone wrong and provide "helpful" advice especially to newer players.

    You have been here since 2014. You know SE stance on how we interact with each other. They don't want the hassle/cost of dealing with the sheer amount of reports. People can't be trusted to behave.

    You can still have quick chat options without completely restricting chat. Salty players will exist regardless of the chat function and you can just report them and move on with your day.

    First. Reporting lol. Second, they will still waste time standing there typing. Sure, if someone really wants to throw they can, but this is taking away the option to even rage type mid match. The matches are so short that I don't see the time spent typing out anything worth it, but this is just my opinion.

    Reporting does work. I've only reported players a handful of times in dungeons and what not and I've gotten a response from a GM pretty quickly every time.

    Doesn't really excuse the ability of players to communicate with each other to be completely removed. Or should we disable /yell and /shout as well? How about /say? Meh lets turn off all chat except for linkshells and free companies.

    Yes. Because I am under the same constraints of a competitive, intense, time sensitive environment in both PVP and casually talking in my FC. I'd rather someone spam "Hello!" for 5min straight while also somewhat contributing to a game than have them take 20sec to type out an essay only to have another teammate type out another essay in response. It's not like Frontlines where matches are 10-15min and where one person typing out of twenty-four isn't going to be the deciding factor in a game.

    All we need is for "focus target" to be back and then everything will be peachy.
