[Suggestion] Zodiac Replica Warnings - I have to do the whole thing again

Hello team,

At some point since I got my finished Ragnarok Zeta weapon, I had discarded it as I assumed that replicas would be available as this is old content on a no longer current weapon.

I was mistaken; I was supposed to have traded it into Anima so that I could purchase replicas without keeping the final Zeta weapon. But I did not do that. My replicas are not available.

The GM team could not help me as they could not find my Zeta within the past 20 days. But this would never have been an issue if during discard, it did not only use the standard warning for any unique/untradeable item.

I only found out that the final Zeta was needed after going back to the replica NPC, who then told me he needed to base replicas off of it. To put it shortly: Please add additional warnings regarding replica purchase upon discard, or have the NPC mention that he needs the completed weapon, or to mention the Anima trade option which registers Zodiac as completed.



I now have to do the unenviable task of doing the Zodiac weapon questline, again, because not enough information was given that the ARR system was different from the HW ones onwards. I feel the above option might be easier on developers than going back and adding achievements for ARR relics.

Please spare other unfortunate players.

You could use your "once only" recovery, course then you have a partially complete anima weapon...

Yha, it would be lovely if this was updated, but you know they aint gonna update ARR code any time soon.

Are you mixing up Zenith and Zeta? You talk about a finished Zenith weapon, then you talk about how you should've traded it for an anima and then you said the GM found no Zeta.
Zenith is lv 90 and Zeta 135. If you ever had a Zeta you can buy the replica even if you throw it away, if you never had a Zeta you get no replicas. You unlock all replicas at once there's nothing in between.

It was a Zeta, sorry. I have tried to use my one time recovery, but because I did not find out this issue within the last 20 days, it's to no avail sadly. And no, the NPC gives me dialogue that without the Zeta on my person, I can't make my old replicas. Linked his quote above.

edit: Maybe he means a Zeta and I can just make another one...? The WAR quest isn't even available to me anymore... Still a cautionary tale for people just meaning to do one Zeta, if ever.

If you sacrifice a finished Zodiac weapon (it has to be finished) for an Anima weapon, that removes the requirement that you need the finished weapon to buy replicas. I can say this from personal experience, I've bought replicas for my BLM relics after sacrificing my upgraded lilith rod for an anima weapon.

And I'm preeeeeetty sure you can't sacrifice any zodiac weapon that isn't finished.

Edit: Oh are you saying you accidentally tossed it? That would be different I expect, sorry about that.

I tossed it on the false assumption it would be like HW onward, yes. And... never mind to my own edit as well, looks like I do have to remake the WAR one specifically. The fact that I have to scour the Internet so much for other people's experiences with this rather than it being obvious in game is definitely a big problem. The smallest kindness to me is that so far the Atmas have been dropping, here's to hoping with the other steps.

I'm just going to bump this because I was stupid enough to think that this was no longer a problem (boy was I wrong).

I spent the last few days completing the BLM zeta as I had the books almost done and figured why not.
So after all the grinding was done, i get my cutscene and my Lilith Rod Zeta with Skillspeed and Tenacity.
I walk up to drake and look at the recreation menu and see the Lilith Rod Zeta there, check out the older versions and think that at some point I want to glamour one.
Given that the menu always presented me with the option to redo Excalibur and Last Resort, I figured that Lilith Rod would be permanently there too.
But I forgot that I actually used those two ARR relics to start the HW relic many years ago.

So once I was done with checking the replicas and standing at a retainer later, I decide to toss the zeta because "surely I can get a replica". Except that isn't the case.

I had previously already completed all the HW relics so I didn't need to turn anything into the nodes, so it wasn't even a considering to try that mechanic out.

Honestly, if the system can figure out that you traded your Zeta for an astral/umbral node for the HW relic, it should be able to figure out that you actually got the Zeta to begin with, and allow you to repurchase replicas as a result.

I don't even want to try and bother with using the "one time item restoration" (because that's another garbage system to begin with), on an item like this that should've had a system for repurchasing replicas without having to keep the actual item.

The issue with the ARR relic system should get more visibility and traction to be able to be changed, so that poor sobs who think the system works like anything else they do in game don't get surprised down the road when it actually isn't, but without so much as a warning.
