Thread: 6.1 Samarai....but why? (Rant...with Love)

I have been playing for a very long time since HW, I do not have the weight of a 1.0 player but I have been a long existing fan. I have played many roles and jobs. I did not like SB SAM not cause it was a bad job but it wasn't my flavor, ShB SAM felt not very impactful. But then Came Endwalker as a Tank main for a few years, I decided to play Dps once more.

I finally brought myself to level SAM and I then felt like Jack Skelleton that just found Christmas. Whats this, whats this? My Kaiten buffs Higabana and it Midare everywhere. Whats this, whats this? That flashy Kaiten makes my Ogi Namakiri have that fancy number flair. WHAT IS THIS????

In short, I loved how impactful and how Kaiten added complexity to my abilities. To augment what I already have with the fancy blade work with that *whirr whirr whirr* just felt so good. Then.......the 6.1 Live letter happen. I am gonna be real....I hate shinten. Its not impactful, it doesn't feel noticable, and I can get lost alone with Kaiten in my rotation to realize...omg my Kenki is full! Boom DPS loss. Might as well press the least most enjoyable move in my arsenal.

But one may say, but bro, you have Senei...sure..... You right. ONLY RIGHT FOR EVERY 2 MINUTES AT THE COST OF 25. You may ask but whats wrong with 25? Its Kenki Gauge bloat with not enough impactful buttons to pour into it. Shoha feels great....whenever it decides to roll around. But now I have to spam Shinten in fear of dps loss cause my buddy and most enjoyable Kaiten is not here to keep Shinten at its leash.

Are we gonna be okay as SAM's? Sure......but the only thing that kept the simplicity from being over simplified and kept the Kenki Gauge overfill panic causing me anxiety is now gone. I want Kaiten to stay honestly.

I'd love Senei to be 50 with a CD of 60 Seconds or a increased Potency to calm Kenki Gauge the heck down when I am getting my stickers. I am no Game Dev nor mathematician. My ideas may not be great but there are better ways to handle this.

Oh also last note, BUTTON BLOAT??? As a console controller player, I am dumbfounded by this statement regarding Kaiten. Some people say Shoha combine with Shoha II or what not. But hear me out. Here is a novel idea.Shifu Becomes Kasha and Jinpu becomes Gekko. *MINDBLOWN* (Sarcasm) instead of one slot freed, thats two!!!! I could fit more buttons on my Cross bar and I dont have to regulate Left side and Right Side for Stamps anymore!!! But nope...lets just remove Kaiten.......I do not understand the philosophy.

My voice is not louder or more important than any other. I don't expect SE to really care about one tiny gear in the millions of cogwheels in this game (thats me). I love this game and I praise the Devs for truly a masterpiece. But I cannot help to feel...we are taking steps backward as far as job and class design lately.
