It was one time for over a little of a month, and only because a handful of popular streamers started playing FFXIV which brought on an influx of players SE wasn't accounting for the release of Endwalker. Guess what? Those same streams have all practically dropped FFXIV.

Player count is already back down to numbers prior to the overwhelming influx of players caused by the streamers.

and as I've said time and again, there's no mass appeal in the repetitive end game content that you want the rest of the game to emulate. Just because I don't log in every single day anymore doesn't mean that I dropped my sub.

You mean once. Because one of the largest MMO's in the world flopped and people wanted a new home, right when a new expansion launched. And the main reason the hardware couldn't handle it was because they couldn't obtain upgrades, so they had to work with what they had.

It would be massive mistake for FF14 to assume they're doing everything right just because they're having some success, because that's exactly what WoW did before it crashed.

There will be no "insane" queues this coming patch. The hype has dropped. Feel free to quote me later if we do get massive queues in 6.1 and I'll happily admit I was wrong.

By the twelve I wish I were half as creative at placing words into my own mouth as others are at doing it for me. They're actually gaining ground quite rapidly by making a game that appeals to everyone, not just hardcore players.

Friends and extended family, I have invited many of them to play and they do appear to really really enjoy the game. Massive variance in opinions from "I think it is okay but it could do better" to "Meh, I give it one or two more years." Some have taken quite lengthy breaks, did not even make it past post ARR. Others only play because we play together. Several of the extended family is burnt out on the community calling it umm.. cancerous. 3.6 Roentgen, not great not terrible.

There was other game I did play that removed my group raise, many of my debuffs, group bubble and six or so other skills from my Cleric. That game was Aion and I stopped playing Aion.

Can be naïve at the times but I am not that fricken naïve. Am painfully aware of signs for when something is going from; Fun and engaging piece of interactive media to so simple tis practically a movie.. and not even a good one. Mass appeal, gotta love that there word. More like massively disappointing.

This was the expected result when we dropped to one dungeon per patch.

The MSQ has to stay at least kind of easy.

The other stuff, the more intersting stuff, the stuff where they returned to a dungeon a second time and made it (hard) or it was side content and never required so it could just be harder...

They are doing a lot of side stuff, a deep dungeon, maybe an entire forray area, and there's the crystal dungeons thing... I'm hoping one of those feels as good as dungeons used to.

Stick to Extremes and Savages that require you to maintain your focus through every fight and optimize every aspect of your gameplay. Just let the rest of us enjoy the chill game that we know and love. The game's not being dumbed down. You're just older and more experienced than you used to be.

I wish savage required me to maintain my focus. The amount of times i’ve zoned out or dozed off while healing this tier is…embarrassing to say the least. To say the game isn’t being dumbed down is a flat out lie, when healers have had their kits gutted compared to previous expansions and numerous jobs have gotten dumbed down from their previous iterations.

People like you want to make this game out to be like the ONLY thing that a person should play and that it should offer 24/7 experiences at levels that meet your expectations. other games don't exist to you. THIS IS NOT THAT GAME, NOR SHOULD IT BE. Nor should ANY game be like that.
