Then would you at least let me have my carbuncle glamours? If so I can be pro this. As long as we can agree on that.
I'm from 1 MS in the future.
Considering how ridiculously dumb a giant red carbuncle dropping out of the sky and casting hellfire would look, I am 100% ok with the ability to glam the avatars as carbuncles. That'd be hilarious.
You have far more hope in the team than I do. I remember them promising us more glamours (including just more different colored carbuncles) back in 3.55. We're almost at 6.1. They never delivered, despite saying this entire time (pre-6.0) that it was being worked on.

True, but i think the issue with Egi Glamours was the amount of animations they would need to create and that a lot of people wanted other primal glamours over new carbuncle colours. I also think they were trying to decide if they were going to keep egi's at all. With how they did the rework, they just need to change the colour of the ruin spell and add 1 new ability for Astral flow.
Ill admit its a hope i do think may not come to pass at all though.
Adding a new Astral Flow ability is significantly more work than just model swapping the old egi, and this can have massive implications to the job's damage. The options they gave us as examples (Ramuh and Sephirot) are already in the game, so the delay becomes even more ridiculous. I would have more faith if they just told us it was cancelled.True, but i think the issue with Egi Glamours was the amount of animations they would need to create and that a lot of people wanted other primal glamours over new carbuncle colours. Old Egi would require:
1x Model or import/ conversion of existing Model
2x Egi abilities (from 5.0) Or 3x egi abilities (pre 5.0)
Currently they need
1 x Graphic for the arcanum summon / rework of existing primal Cast
1X astral flow
alternatively they could assign primals so the astral flow effect is the same and just create a new animation i.e - Garuda to Ramuh tint ruin purple and make the Astral flow leave an electric storm instead of a wind one.
Before they do any glamours though... i think they need to fix some of the core issues with the job and add something to make it more engaging rotation wise.

It only needed a model swap. At no point did they ever promise we'd get full on new pets. That's why they said they would start with Ramuh and Sephirot, because they already had models they can add to the pool. There is no skill change. There isn't even animation work, since both of them already have attack/casting animations. This becomes extra obvious in the Stormblood story where Sephirot-egi is a plot point and it's the exact same as the add in the Sephirot fight (and that add is just a reskinned Titan-egi anyways). They already had everything they needed to deliver on the promised update and flaked on the community for years while repeatedly saying it was still coming. That is the key point why I have no faith in any kind of visual update to Summoner.
The only complaint they could have had is something goofy like Leviathan-egi pooping fire, but that makes as much sense as the wind carbuncle suddenly being able to do so and is answered in the lore they developed when first implementing egi glamour anyways.
Absolutely agreed, but I am not optimistic given how much this rework has painted themselves into a corner. They'd have to redo the entire thing again or they're just retreading the old SMN design problems in a new coat of paint.
