As long as Demi Summoning exists I have the exact opposite demand. Cabuncle should have nothing to do because it is dead half the rotation. It can just stand around vibing.

Considering how ridiculously dumb a giant red carbuncle dropping out of the sky and casting hellfire would look, I am 100% ok with the ability to glam the avatars as carbuncles. That'd be hilarious.

I do think they have a lot of options, if they want to down the glam system. Having said that, I suspect that a lot of these versions will come in future expansions.

You have far more hope in the team than I do. I remember them promising us more glamours (including just more different colored carbuncles) back in 3.55. We're almost at 6.1. They never delivered, despite saying this entire time (pre-6.0) that it was being worked on.

True, but i think the issue with Egi Glamours was the amount of animations they would need to create and that a lot of people wanted other primal glamours over new carbuncle colours. I also think they were trying to decide if they were going to keep egi's at all. With how they did the rework, they just need to change the colour of the ruin spell and add 1 new ability for Astral flow.

Ill admit its a hope i do think may not come to pass at all though.

Adding a new Astral Flow ability is significantly more work than just model swapping the old egi, and this can have massive implications to the job's damage. The options they gave us as examples (Ramuh and Sephirot) are already in the game, so the delay becomes even more ridiculous. I would have more faith if they just told us it was cancelled.

I would rather throw out the avatars entirely, since they’re the thing that is preventing Carbuncle from being useful in the first place. They’re conceptually the right idea but the implementation is so bad I’m still considering quitting over it. The Searing Light change is something I’ve wanted since it was called Devotion. Though I hope they let us target the pet with it rather than the generic AoE we always get.

This is what I want as well. I want it to feel like my Carbuncle is contributing, not just a glorified set piece. Make it cast a low potency attack on the mobs, sorta like how the faerie casts embrace. It'll solve two problems at once, give carby something to do and increase SMNs dps.

Maybe like a 100 potency attack for the first enemy and 60% fall off for the surrounding ones, similar to the other summons.

I would be fine if it honestly spammed an attack that did 50 potency.
