Will lottery destroy or fix housing?

So, I'm really trying to understand exactly what is gonna happen once they implement the up and coming housing lottery. Before I go on, most people probably know that getting a house is already a lottery, you camp a plot and click the placard with a bunch of other people, of whom most are running a clicking script. Thing is, currently you are in a lottery with 20-40 people every time, but from what I hear the lottery system will make many more players than that involved, meaning your already low chances dip to super low. I'm wracking my brain trying to understand how this is better?

The community have actually put a lot of effort into making the awful click placard system work, the aforementioned script, housing alert servers, charts displaying peak chance times on a case to case basis, but now its apparently going to be torn down to be replaced with even lower chances lottery, a downright degradation of what we currently have. I don't want this system to suck, I want it to be good and help people who have amassed a lot of money to one day get a good home, like me. But all I see just makes me lose hope...

Not really sure why any1 would be against the new system or favors the old one.
It kills bot users and housing flippers... its a win win situation.

If by bot users you mean ppl running scripts then that is because it was the only reasonable way of getting a house. I don't mind them fighting actual bots and house flipping, but reducing the chances of getting a house to much worse than it already is feels like it creates a bigger problem then any that it solves.

And just that is reason enough to get rid of the old system.
People shouldn't have to use a script to begin with.

I never ran any script to get my houses, stop justifying cheating. Things wouldnt have been as bad without all the people running auto clickers either.
Nothing will truly be solved unless they invest in getting a vastly larger amount of housing available to players. And with how housing is shown as a feature of the game I say they should have done so ages ago instead of leaving it in this state for years.

Why are you like this? A level 2 character cannot, by any means, get that house, due not having met the 2nd Lt requeriments for it.

A level 2 character can be an FC leader and buy. Nothing more is needed than them being the leader for 30 days and 4 people in the FC when they buy.

How about if SE sells you a plot for US$19.99? Would you buy a 20 dollar plot in an instance version of a ward? SE could even spin in a way they are buying new servers exclusively for the housing and the price is to offset the new server costs! Give me that monkey paw, I need to make a wish!

The old system favored people who could no-life the game and click for hours on end, but the new system does not.

The forums/Reddit/Discord/etc. are disproportionately frequented by people who no-life the game.
