Please so something about Crystal DC's party finder!

It's been a growing issue (on Crystal DC, anyway!) that party finder has a lot of duplicative and adult posts. This is especially an issue in the evenings. There's a lot of ways that this could be addressed, but I'm bringing it to attention because it has alienated a large portion of the community from using the party finder.

The norm is for adult/club posts to advertise several times simultaneously. The most I've seen is 16 ads up concurrently for the same club, in a sea of other repeat posts. On a weekend evening, there may be some 40 or so simultaneous duplicative ads. Further, many of these venues outright list that they're NSFW/ERP/adult oriented, and compete for visibility by attempting to outpost each other.

It's a common sentiment today that regular RP venues no longer use the party finder to advertise because the party finder already has a reputation for being an NSFW tool.

Reporting the posts is inefficient and take a time commitment. It's impractical to put in 15 tickets for a single action taken in concert. A right click drop down menu to report for inappropriate/duplicative posts may be one solution.

Another solution may be to expand the blacklist. I spent a time blacklisting characters who repeated identical posts on party finder, but it took about a week to have hit the blacklist cap of 200 characters due to the nature of the issue. If you block out all the repeat posts in a single night, it's going to be approximately 40 characters an evening.

Anyway, I wanted to bring it up in hopes that it might be recognized as an issue and addressed someday!

I'm in agreement with this. Even on Behemoth, there are many repeat ads about Clubs and other Venues. I've seen it on Crystal too on my alt, and it's creating issues in the "Other" category of the PF. In general, I'd want to say it's a bad thing because what it does is not promote different variations of RP, but rather clutter everything to the point you have to find a needle in a haystack or go out of your way to find a decent RP group; this also effects start-ups of people who want to write their own story with others or create a group for it.

This happens on aether too.
Sometimes you'll see the same 3-4 venues each having 7+ different listings on the party finder, and this is in addition to the people they have shouting at the aetheryte plazas.

Easily the biggest blight on the community side of the game imo. Giving the game a bad reputation.

You can report the ads that have clear escort/brothel in the ad or link to them at least. But yeah it's been a sudden influx lately, I like hopping to RP venues so wouldn't like to see them go away entirely, the owners need some chill though lol.

We've now seen that people are now literally using the game to make a living off of selling sex services through it, so I'm not surprised the barking is getting more aggressive.

It probably will continue to get worse until it grows enough to make Square give up on trying to dodge a CERO rating hike with their coy ToS phrasing.

RP and 18+ RP should have each their own catagories regardless, with the 18+ offering some kind of disclaimer or possible lock on it, provided that doesn't enrage platform holders.

We had this, I just did a normal harassment report, spamming as the type, said where it was and and listed all their names in the one report, with the number of ads each had.

They were cleaned up within the hour.

I don't know why they don't just add in a Player Advertorials and Classifieds section with a filter in the filters list to either see or not see them. It would be a far better solution than just straight banning social groups from using PF.

I have no idea what SE's stance is on adult content in game that is provided by players but frankly, I don't actually care. Everyone has their thing. It's not my thing but I don't care that it's other peoples thing.

Add a classifieds tab, or perhaps even a fun sort of in game weekly news board people can put ads on for the week. Maybe it could be a gil sink too, I dunno, there's a ton of fun ways to deal with social content that people don't want to be bombarded with in the party finder.
