    I'm not. Because most people will not think about the changes after 3 months.

    RIP Butchers Block. (seriously though...this was satisfying)

    RIP Dark Passenger
    RIP Scourge
    RIP Monk stances (not really)
    RIP Monk positionals (really)
    RIP Diversion (VERY MUCH)
    RIP Enochian


    And a TON of other things that were removed or "dumbed down" to make things less frustrating.

    I don't miss any of this stuff...maybe Dark Arts...that was a cool animation...same for Butchers Block. I don't think anyone will miss a SAM Dark Arts 6 months from now, or they will just flat out forget about it.

    Do I feel for those SAM's losing something in their kit...sure...but I HIGHLY doubt they will miss the usage of a fluff skill to buff your next attack. Maybe i'm wrong...

    I asked this over on Reddit but maybe someone here knows. How do the Japanese players feel about this change? If they aren't opposed to it, then why not? That might give you a clue as to why they are making this change.

    Yoshi-P did a patch notes reading that he always does before it goes live and so here were some of the comments made during it. THis was taken from the Reddit discord done by the awesome iluna minori.

    As of this writing, there's a long, long pause right now because YoshiP is heavily focusing on JP NIN user's feedback (live feedback) on the changes. While my eyes can't catch up on everything, (what I caught mostly) is that they felt that applying 60s TA is already something they accepted and is part of the identity, so the change is more of a nuisance than making it a convenience.

    Some comments wanted the person who worked on NIN to address their rationale, YoshiP replied that it doesn't matter if they did or not because the changes are done based on the discussion between YoshiP AND the one who worked on job balances, and they discussed it before taking the risk to apply the changes.     I saw comments asking for the person responsible to come out and explain themselves, but even if they come out I doubt that they will say anything different than what I did. By the way, the adjustments you see here are the result of me debating with the person who worked on it, along with discussing the risks it come with, and in the end, decided and then signed on it after knowing and acknowledging that performing such changes are for the sake of the playerbase. So this is definitely my responsibility...so probably no matter how much I say here it will just be an speech where people either be convinced or not so... (edited)


    Basically they are just as confused as we are for the most part and really not a bif fan of some of these changes.

    There was a post on the subreddit a couple of weeks back that had some quotes from Japanese players after the removal of Kaiten was announced. In short, they're just as bemused as the rest of us.

    Fun fact, in the patch note live reading, they just skipped over the samurai adjustments section, most likely due to unpopular comments.

    As for the kaiten removal, kenki generation and consumption was not changed.
    Which means whatever kenki was spent on kaiten, will now be spent on shinten.
    Further more, with the shinten potency adjust, Gyoten/Yaten are now the same potency per kenki as Shinten, meaning if in a burst window you are left with 10 kenki before the buff/debuffs end, you do a gyoten.
    Also, the change to third eye duration encourages further uses of third eye.

    They said kaiten removal was for action bloat, this changes nothing regarding action bloat.

    Thanks for the link. Reading through the SAM section, it looks as though the Japanese are mostly receptive to this skill being removed with some, of course, against it.

    They seem more focused on the actual performance of the job, specifically regarding groups and synergy with other jobs. Seems like they regard this as mostly a cosmetic change that does not impact gameplay, though some would like to see the animation applied to something else.

    Good. They need to know how much they screwed up with these changes. Mind boggling how they added the Kaiten potency increase to Higanbana but not the other skills buffed from Kaiten.

    This is false. It is extremely divisive and many question why it was removed. It may have been true when that thread was created, but is no longer the case.

    So, what you're saying is it's not false. Just that more voices spoke up since the creation of that other thread.

    The thing that bakes my noodle is this literally makes samurai not synergies with many classes. The auto crits prevents them from benefiting from crit buffs similar to Warriors skill.
