They only added Viera because of fans begging for it since ARR. But as we've seen, Viera apparently takes priority in every blasted field. At this point I've gone from being indifferent to Viera to hating their inclusion, as it's apparent at this point that Viera is the reason Hrothgar cannot get anything.

Based. But when you try to bring that up, people say the petition/complaint threads are about "both" races. Except one of said races has gotten the preferential treatment over the last couple of years, but let's ignore that.

I don't know why you three are suddenly acting like it's the Viera's fault the developers are half-arsing the Hrothgar, this just feels like pure speculation. You can't generalize and blame the entire Viera player base and assume they are the reason for Hrothgar getting thrown to the back. Surely you can see this is SE's problem and only their problem, turning this situation into a 'this is all indirectly the Viera's fault' is pretty much just shifting the blame from the developers. We need SE to answer why they; a famous and well known company are struggling so much to change Hrothgar and improve the player's experience.

And yes, my complaint thread is for both of our races... Hence why Hrothgar is in the title of the thread, and is spoken about in the main post. I may have leaned more towards speaking from my perspective, but that's because I don't know what it's like to play a Hrothgar. Everyone understands that the Hrothgar situation is worse, but this does not disregard the fact that we were both brought in as half-arsed, limited races who cant wear headgear. No one is saying the Viera have it worse.

I am sorry if you felt like this. I by no means put the blame on the Viera as a race. I thought I emphasized that in my comment. The thing that I was trying to point out is their poor choice made in making 2 playable races instead of one. I am by no means directing anything at players, cause it's not their fault this happened. What I put blame on was the Viera favouritism of the devs, even Viera players can agree that while yes, we both have limitations, Hrothgar has the worst of it. The fur textures look bad, their models look like a copy-paste of Roe with a hunch and furry mask, they need to use Fantasia to even change their hairstyles (still on hopium that I am making this up and it's not the case anymore), small pool of "hats". When Viera only has a small pool of Hairstyles and hats to choose from, they don't need to pay IRL money. I can't help but feel like if they didn't force themselves to make 2 races at once this problem wouldn't have happened. And you as a Viera player can give your thoughts from your experience and I as a Hrothgar player can only do the same from mine. And from my side it does feel like Hrothgar got shafted for Viera, their model looks better, their textures look better and they don't have to buy a Fantasia to go to the aesthetician. But I want to say again, I don't blame the players, I blame the devs. And I am sorry for upsetting you, it was not my intention.

Neither viera or hrothgar are getting racial styles and instead get copy pasted shared hairstyles, that are seemingly barely altered to even look good or work with either viera or hrothgar models. I don't think SE ever intended on giving either female viera or male hrothgar much support after their release. The difference between the two is hrothgar, most likely, requires much more work than viera in regards to styles and everything else due to how they were built.

And for the record, I'm not that fond of the XIV appearance of the Viera - I'd much prefer if they retained their more beast-like features in XII But design wise of Hrothgar, I do like it and it's always a pleasant surprise coming across one in a dungeon (because they're so damn rare)

One comment I'm struggling with was Raskbucks, I don't see how Viera got special treatment the past few years when we got just as much stuff as Hrothgar...? (Did we?)

Well.. they did say they were planning on updating textures & character customization in 7.0, so Female Hrothgar should be fine. It's not as if they're going to design female Hrothgar with 6.0 textures and then exclude that race out again while every other race gets the 7.0 update. They wouldn't be so daft to do that and then take another 2 years to update Hrothgars again just to be up to par with everyone else in 7.0, right? Right?

"Regardless of your progression in the main scenario, these changes will be available when creating new characters, editing your character's appearance using Fantasia, or hiring a retainer. Otherwise, these options will be available when visiting the aesthetician."

We're still earless with those new hairstyles BUT we do no longer have to use real money to change hair. Extremely glad they completely cleared that up.

This is good. The change was most likely made because they noticed the feedback. What worries is me is that there's no mention of racial hairstyles being usable by every face type, which we definitely discussed here, so I'm just going to assume that they haven't done anything about it. BUT, it's one step in the right direction, so there's that.
