A person who plays M. Viera, probably one of the most vocally requested races is saying something like this when Hrothgar were only asking for the basics that every other race gets (viera to a certain degree).

When was the last time Viera was FORCED to use a fantasia just to make a basic change to their character? When was the last time Viera had their ears chopped off to be given subpar hairstyles that look bad on the race?

oh wait, viera has never had to deal with either of those problems. they may be in the "same boat" as far as hats and helmets are concerned, but Viera as a whole have received far more attention and have been given quality hairstyles that don't remove a racial feature for the sake of streamlining the addition of hairstyles that literally no one asked for.

Viera and hrothgar players shouldn't be attacking eachother. They are in the same boat, and if you want to get technical, hrothgar actually do get more headgear than viera, but I digress. Viera haven't been given "quality" hairstyles, they have been given copy-paste hairstyles, that just look better due to their headshape. Ironically, the hrothgar 2b hair probably got more attention with it's Voldemort refit, than viera styles.

We are in a similar boat, only your situation is more severe - and everyone is well aware of it.

But just because the Hrothgar situation is worse, it does not mean you can disregard the fact that we were both brought in as restricted races who can't wear most headgear, and were unable to wear the in-game hairstyles for years.

The whole mentality of 'Viera vs the Hrothgar' is worn out. We're on the same side, we both should be aspiring for higher standards for the races we adore.

Greetings, everyone.

As there have been a lot of feedback surrounding Hrothgar and their hairstyles, we wanted to share a recent update from Yoshida during the recent patch notes reading. On the stream he discussed the specifications of Hrothgar and the difficulties regarding adding hairstyles for them.

I have known this since before Shadowbringers. As a Viera player, I am still living that high of finding out that we would be getting to play as one! I still remember when the Dev's said we wouldn't be getting hats and thought "Who cares, they're too pretty to cover up!". Then, maybe a month later we found out that the Dev team had worked in their off-time behind Yoshi-P's back to at least have a few head pieces added... I am still grateful to those individuals for putting in extra effort on our behalf.

I am fully aware of the issues surrounding Viera and have chosen to play one despite their limitations.

I remember the "add viera" threads, and the "add male viera" threads. Thank you devs for listening to us and a very Canadian "sorry" for adding such a headache for your team. :P

We’d like to continue doing our best to address your feedback, so please continue to let us know what you think.

Here is my feedback as a Viera player:
The hairstyles we (Hrothgar/Viera) got were not what I was expecting or what I wanted. I would prefer hair options specific to our race, even if that means we have to wait a long time to get a new one. Even if we have to wait for the dev team to finish other projects like creating female Hrothgar or upgrading the game's graphics before they can start to work on it.

Original Viera hairstyles are the in my opinion the best looking hairstyles in the game. I am plenty satisfied with using those while I wait. I'm in no hurry to see more options, Viera is 1 of 7 races. I would much rather see Hrothgar get the love they deserve. (No more fantasia's to change hair styles please!)

This would be the best way to go about it. I'd rather see Hrothgar take longer to get a new hairstyle that perfectly fits their head structure if it means the quality of the hairstyle for them is far better.

Please do not rush yourselves in implementing things like this, Yoshi-P and FFXIV team. Take the time that is necessary to give the player base what they desire.

Each hrothgar head was molded with slight different proportions, so the hair was also molded to the faces locking them into place. For them be able to be changed with gil, they'll need to be re adapted to each face aside their original one since most will look too big or too small, some even floating, depending of the face.

All that said, considering they over-adapted the 2B and 9S hairstyles, they could have done it too or even doing it first before the "earlesspocalypse 2022" and avoided a lot of trouble...
