This looks 10000% better! Why wouldn't they let the ear clip? This makes me so upset!Out of curiosity, has anyone seen the ears temporarily remaining when switching to the new hairstyles at the aesthetician? While this could very much be due to some lag on my end, I've noticed that when switching between the new hairstyles (primarily the Pulse hairstyle), and the original ones, the ears will sometimes momentarily remain before disappearing. It is only for a split second when it happens, and it happens rarely, but I'm curious if anyone else has seen it occur as well?
After I saw it happen for the first time, I tried to get it to appear again and was able to get a picture of what it looked like with the Pulse hairstyle (my apologies for the poor image quality). I've got to say, regardless of what is causing this error, seeing in-game what the Pulse hairstyle looks like with ears makes me wish that the ears were actually on these new hairstyles. The headpiece just looks so much better, in my opinion.
BTW your Hrothgar looks really cute.
So it shows that was possible to keep them on in the first place.
Malicious compliance at best.

Don't quite get why they opted to go into the same trap as WoW with tauren/worgen where they insist on giving the races hunchbacks or manes causing hunchbacks.
I don't play Hrothgar but I think they really screwed this one up. Only goes to show being complacent with your costumer base isn't always necessarily the best response.
I also feel we don't have enough masculine and other hairstyles. They're either too short or unisex.
just passing by to share my thoughts to the devs, mostly whats already been said
first off, one good thing to come of this situation is the fact that Hrothgar players are no longer forced to use a fantasia to change their hair. this is a big step forward, but we have two big steps back.
the first step back is the fact that we still can't use the base Hrothgar hairstyles among all faces. they should have been the first real wave of hairstyles, maybe along with two shared ones. i'm sure there wouldn't have been near as much backlash if it was announced that "all the original hrothgar hairstyles can be worn now regardless of face choice, and you no longer need a fantasia!"
the second step back is why were the ears needed to be hidden for the "new" hairstyles? is there any legitimate reason and not "the clipping looks bad" or "it was difficult"? in my opinion, not having ears looks far worse than the clipping, and there are plenty of examples posted in this thread to prove it. having no ears is just so severely disappointing.
if something really needs to be "cut" for the Hrothgar customization to work the way it does now, why not cut the Fur Pattern section? most outfits hide practically any view of them and i doubt the Hrothgar players that like to show a bit more fur would care too much if their patterns were gone(or just have a default pattern, since they can already be toggled on or off), especially if it meant that we'd have more hairstyles(or more facial features) with ears to work with.
now that we have a Hairstyle section for Hrothgar to be able use the Aesthetician proper, adding more hairstyles to Hrothgar should be no different than adding hairstyles to Viera or other races, aside from refitting. i feel that shared hairstyles don't look too bad as long as they keep the ears. again, there are plenty of examples. i think two shared styles and one unique Hrothgar-only style wouldn't be asking too much, or reversed with one shared and two unique, or even just one of both. as long as we keep the ears. but first things first, unlock the base hairstyles among the faces.
if the shape of the Hrothgar's heads is more the issue, then i'm of the mind of some of the others that have posted here. reshape the head, or at least the back of the head and neck, to be more humanoid like, much like FFX Ronso. seeing as how they're heavily based on Ronso anyway, i don't see why this wasn't how they were in the first place. if this could fix hat/helmet fitting issues then all the more. if this change makes their idle pose look a bit off.. then i'd say go the extra malm and fix their posture. i understand that would take far more work but it would probably be worth it in the long run. a lot of Hrothgar players i see use the upright standing cpose idle anyway, myself included.
anyway, sorry for the big post, but i hope anyone who reads this has a pleasant day/night, take care~
It feels like time wasted, no one will really enjoy most of these new hairstyles with its current implementation. It would've been best to put out less but at least something decent that people would use than waste resources in something that is obviously flawed and most people will not like. They should've just put resources into providing at least one or two good hairstyles than rushing to meet a deadline or perhaps even delay it.
6.1 has been amazing, this feels like something minor in retrospect but at the same time out of character for a team that typically focuses on a minimum quality standard. I hope they keep doing good work and not fall into this temptation again of meeting deadline with rushed/unpolished content.
hrothgar are really bad.. title fixed
