    Scholar aesthetics? (for fun thoughts)

So Scholar is a pretty good healer functionally, but visually it is pretty boring especially after Summoner got so much flash now so I was thinking about some ways to make scholar a lil more fun visually.
I'd like to see scholar shift slightly with their visuals and weapons. Personally I think it would be interesting to see them take a shift towards a conductor approach. (Like an orchestra not like a train) Keep the book as sheet music and get a baton/wand. Let scholar summon both fairies together and have the caster conduct a lil fairy choir to use heals while you fire ruins out the wand, OR Have one fairy casting the heals while the other one casts damage. I dunno just think it would be something cool, but would love to hear thoughts, and other ideas from people.

What's wrong with war tactician? Scholars of past games tended to lean towards having versatile kits, identifying weaknesses, and being academics. I don't see how being an orchestra conductor fits into that.
Also as someone who prefers to not set party effects to limited, I like not having big flashy effects to blind me with all my other party members' effects.

Very true, especially on the being blinded by party members part. (Lord knows how much retina damage I've gotten from Holy and stuff over the years) The orchestra was mainly because I just get tired of "book" as a weapon lol. But even as a War Tactician or anything I just kind of want the faries to feel more like a part of it and less like a side thing, ya know? Like let me have both fairies out there and let me give them something to do other than the oGCD heals here and there. I just want them to feel a little more involved with the kit.

Rods are a "weapon" that comes to mind when imagining commanding figures in old timey armies.

As an example, this stubby blue rod (Bâton de commandement) is a symbolic accessory shown in many portraits of kings and military figures (This particular design in blue with the Lys belonged to the french monarchy tho.) It has no martial use and it's simply depicted to symbolize the authority the person has. It is still associated with their ability to command a group so it would fit Scholar's idea.

There are many types of rods, thinner and more practical and ellegant. So I can see the association with a conductor's wand. They are ultimately two different item's though.

What if like the fairy you don’t have summoned pops up in some ogcd animations. Like on chain stratagem your other fairy materializes and whispers in your during the cast. Or emergency tactics the other fairy flies out of your book and into the target. I agree it would be nice to see the fairies do more.

Scholar as a profession implies someone who reads a lot but I never thought we should be limited to books. Long flowing Scrolls, digital tablets from the Allagan Empire, or even stone tablets etched with magical ink could all be used and still suffice as a Scholarly weapon. Ninja uses every kind of sword imaginable, from cleavers, to scimitars, and basically anything pointy, with a few weapons like the Sophia Trial Daggers that are notably blunt. There is no reason beyond a lack of interest in healers that Scholar can't get more variation in their weapon choices.
