I remember all the way back in 2.x When Warrior's Overpower was beloved for making grabbing adds easier on bosses like Imdugud, because it had an even longer range than flash, and it had strong emnity generation. Since that day, Warrior has always had a connection with Overpower being a uniquely strong AoE compared to all the other tanks and changes that came after it.

Removing the cone, whether you "like the change" or not, was still completely unasked for and only served to annoy the people who did like it. The people who didn't like it had other tanks to use, if they don't like warrior all because of just overpower, they can use them. Removing a unique aspect of a class is just an asinine thing to do, because it slowly sands off all the differences that endear it to players, until it plays like the others for the sake of "accessibility".
Regardless, overpower isn't in PvP and it's no longer used in pretty much any end-game content (anymore) which makes an argument for balancing completely irrelevant, so changing it serves no actual purpose but to cause controversy. I'm firmly in the "just change it back" category.
