As a paladin/samurai main, I agree. There should be some differences, damn it. I'm with you. Especially since I preferred my samurai cones to homogenized circles. I dunno, it just feels better.
Mate is doesnt just feel better in animation with tenko. It also is better in usage. Tenko is a casting aoe. Why dafuq do you want me to stand near the tank who is being agro by mobs, with potential cleaves and aoe, while i have to cast my circle aoe?
After playing warrior for close to 4 years....I can say this.
This is a good change and I'm glad they finally did it. I don't really care about what makes a tank slightly different then the next. What I care about is how does the tank play with it's full kit.
Warrior - Unga Bunga, hate meter, walking meat grinder. i.e. Beast gauge and stupid self sustain tank.
Gunbreaker - Flashy, Devil May Cry, S rank style. i.e. sword go bang bang during my ULTRAAAAA COMMMMBOOOOOO phase.
Dark Knight - Edgy, hates sunlight, hates himself, total disregard for well being.
Japanese anime hair style up to +11 with street lamp size sword to declare how much pain i'm in with my "Blood Gauge" and how long I have been on the "Darkside" timer. i.e. Strong tank with most oGCD's, coolest DOT in form of shadow.
Paladin - Mitigation Chad, riposte build, mage tank. i.e. I like holding 2 weapons vs. one big one or one small one. I like helping my team the most out of any tank. I have a damage "nope" button.
Funny thing is....out of ALLL of the tanks....the AOE was the least remembered thing on my mind.
I don't have the AOE on my hotbar unless i'm in P3S, which even then....this would be EASIER to pick up the adds then positioning my self in a line to grab the birds. Now I can just circle AOE, circle AOE.....done.
Will I miss the cool look of overpower. Maybe. Will I miss that awkward positioning. Not at all.
Next.
