Ya I love senei's animation so I'd be down for it being an upgrade to shinten.

Yes, please do NOT remove Hissatsu: Kaiten, rather upgrade Ikkishouten to Ougi Namikiri or make Shouha upgrade to Shouha II
Hissatsu: Kaiten makes Samurai much more satisfying to play, not to mention the opener will be so empty without it. As a Samurai it feels good to weave stuff and constantly pressing buttons. Please don't take that away from us.
+1 for KEEPING Kaiten
Everything that needs to be said on button bloat and APM bloat has already been said, there is no legitimate reason to remove this skill over various others if needed.
No, Hagakure was removed at the start of ShB and that removal was walked back shortly after, in no small part due to players voicing their discontent with how SAM flowed. The reversion of the Hagakure removal is what set the stage for the three tiers of SAM SkS that emerged as potential BiS builds for the rest of ShB, marking SAM as one of the few jobs that actually had some measure of variability in how you chose to optimize. In short, we did it with Hagakure, we can do it with Kaiten.I think it's a real shame that important chunks of gameplay like this are gone like this, even if I don't personally enjoy the job. Hopefully they will listen, but I don't think they will.
However, please understand that this playerbase largely accepted past changes like this before. On all roles. On top of my head, the circus that was Monk during SB, Machinist and Summoner getting completely destroyed into another job entirely with no communication with its playerbase prior to the release, DRK's Dark Arts entire removal and making the job a WAR clone, WAR's Berserk going from damage increase to Crit/DH mid expansion, AST starting stormblood unable to dismiss card UNLESS you used Undraw, the removal of Nocturnal Sect, SCH losing half of its gameplay with no replacement, and more recently, the Monk positionals with no communication about it again. That last one wasn't so long ago, and sure it caused an uproar. The dev team sure didn't care. Not a hoot.
Unfortunately, what I think is going to happen is that the patch note will drop just as they already wrote it. Not a care in the world. Yoshida is going to gleefully read that part about Samurai losing Kaiten. " Dang. That sure was an useless skill that NO ONE LIKED! haha!" with the biggest smile he do can on camera, then move on. And maybe next expac in 2 years, when he will have a slide during the next media tour, he will say something like " Oh, we couldn't do much about Samurai.. there were not a lot of feedback about it so I think we're good! LOL!
" despite JP, EN, FR and GR forums screaming about it at the same time.
I really want to be wrong, but welcome to the "if it's not broke, you can be sure SE will break it in a million pieces then claimed they fixed it" club. Your dot is probably going to be the next one to go.
To my knowledge, the only real backpedal that happened was with Bard after HW. To me personally felt bad too there tbh because I liked how it played, but I completely understand ARR players. Heavily disrupting playerbases is probably what they are going for, I guess.
You're absolutely right. I actually forgot about this. No, Hagakure was removed at the start of ShB and that removal was walked back shortly after, in no small part due to players voicing their discontent with how SAM flowed. I really hope they change their mind at one point or another, or just not apply the change at all.
Random idea to free up 2 hotbar spaces without having to merge Shoha/Shoha2, Guren/Senei
Take guren and senei off the hotbar
Have Ikishoten grant a proc that upgrades Shinten into Senei, and Kyuten into Guren for 1 use
And while we are on that, please have third eye proc open eye which upgrades shinten into seigan for 1 use also.
I find it funny in a story where hermes agonizes over the loss of life, the devs seem gleefully indifferent towards deleting skills and their animations.
This just another of nearly half a dozen solid solutions to Samurai's supposed problems instead of deleting Kaiten lol.
There isn't even a DOWNSIDE to doing this.
The issue with Seigan tho is that I've heard of Yoshi P talk about "Animation Data" in one of his interviews for the Endwalker media Tour (I believe it might have been from Drak Gamestein or Woops with their questions regarding either Monk or Dragoon).
The idea I got was that there was a technical limitation to how much unique animations can be present in the game (and I assume it's files).
Reintroducing Seigan might be counter to that technical limitation, even tho which would not break the game by itself, but tacking on more and more animations from all these different jobs would just need a wholesale purge.
This would result in something like going through your crowded drives to delete stuff because you don't have enough space to install something new, instead of being proactive and deleting something after it's run it's course.
Yoshi P is aware of our outrage as he mentions it on stream. We cannot let this issue disappear. These are bad changes made by out of touch devs
Instead of removing buttons and syncing classes. If YoshiP Plans to sync every class, Change Battle Litany, ChainStrat, and Devilment to Crit Damage instead of Crit Rate and give every class a guaranteed crit (Since this is what they did for WAR and SAM making it non beneficial for DRG,SCH and DNC). Also, just add Shoha I Potency to Shoha II. Make Ikishoten and Oginamikiri 1 Button. Remove Guren already and add it to Senei. And lastly, BRING BACK KAITEN. SAM feels stupid now without Kaiten. Imagine a WAR without the Inner Release animation. We played SAM cause its damn cool when you whirl your sword before doing the big peepo damage. Removing it feels like it lacks aesthetics.
