But then where do you select which city you are traveling to? Like the Airship could have that city states banner draped on its sides, and you get on the ship of your choice, though that could be confusing to new players who don't know which flag belongs to whoThen a pulley system could be used no problem.
You might have misunderstood me. I was saying that it would be nice to either talk to the npc and pay, then have the gate just open, and not have to see a cutscene. As far as the autocharge idea, I meant just having a open gate and as you ran through it would charge you. That may be a little less interactive then people want though. Also, it wouldn't charge you every single time you ran through, it would be a pay then you could ran through as many times as you want until the airship shows up.

Landing in the wrong place, just to have to pay again to go to the right place. LET THE WILD ADVENTURES BEGIN! and the only stories you will be hearing is about wasting their money, and people posting on forums saying fix it. THE SYSTEM IN PLACE IS FINE NOW! jesus everything is an argument on here

By the time they get a pass to be able to use an airship they will know. I rather have different docking stations for each city anyway. Or, the other idea, where you still talk to the person, but a gate just opens, no cutscene.
Would like to see some more attention to this. It's a minor thing yet I think it would be a nice touch to have elevators that are either on a timer a la FFXI/WoW most other elevators or lever-operated. I definitely don't enjoy the idea of elevator rides turned into cut-scenes.
Keep in mind there were elevators in FFXI that would have a cutscene (top floor Jeuno elevator to mog house), but that might have more to do with it was a zone into your rent-a-room.Would like to see some more attention to this. Its weird being the only one to get on the elevator, even if you and a party member are both selecting airship or something. But really I don't care either way.. Maybe keep them as they are but atleast make the cutscene have other people getting on(even if they aren't player characters. Or if you are in a the cutscene shows all the party members that are going get on. That all seems too difficult though so maybe a real elevator is better.
anyway bigger issues little time...

Yeah, we definitely need a system that doesn't cause a cutscene whenever we go to an elevator. Just make it a decent speed. Also, this will probably not happen but I think a system that charges automatically for airships would be nice. Or just an avoid of a cutscene for going to the airship dock before the actually airship gets there, like an automatic gate.

As far as airships go, I also wish they were not instant travel(dont kill me!) I would love to have an onboard airship experience with other players(pirate attacks by air!) Faster than the ferry of course but not instant. I think this has already been confirmed too it was just rushed and they are making the airship area, and sky/ground view while riding for 2.0

Why autocharge for airship? Just because you go to the airship instance doesn't mean anything. You still pay the NPC at the gate, then are put in the queue for when the airship arrives. Just being in that instance should not equal auto payment
