    Y'know, there's really no reason we can't have a legitimate, realistic elevator. There's a targetable lever you activate to call it. You wait for it. You get on it (likely with other players), you interact with several targetable objects or a single object with a menu to select a floor, and then it behaves the way elevators normally behave.

    Bonus points if there's distinct elevator music!

    While this is a nice idea I think something that capitalizes on speed would be best. For instance in that example you could be stuck in that elevator for 30s (I know that doesn't sound like a lot but most players want to be as efficient as possible) while waiting to get to your floor.

    I do agree though that elevator music would be awesome/hilarious. :P

    In other words you want to choose a floor from a menu, exactly like you do now... except you want to stare at the door as you're force to wait for a while first?

    Whyyyyyy-

    Why don't you just do that now? You can use your imagination and wait a bit before clicking on the elevator, and let those of us who don't want to waste our time continue using it whenever we want to.

    i would so totally spend all my time on that elevator......wait for people to wanting to get on an just when they think there going to get a rid pull the lever and hi jack the elevator.

    Make Magitech elavators where they don't just go auto up and down but where you have to stand on those pretty glyphs in the dungeons to turn them on :P

    As annoying as it was, missing the airship or the automatic elevator made me feel like I was part of a world, not the other way around.

    Magitech might be an issue with making it justifiable. I mean our own airships still have a balloon taped to them to keep them in the air. :P

    Then a pulley system could be used no problem.

    Why autocharge for airship? Just because you go to the airship instance doesn't mean anything. You still pay the NPC at the gate, then are put in the queue for when the airship arrives. Just being in that instance should not equal auto payment
    You might have misunderstood me. I was saying that it would be nice to either talk to the npc and pay, then have the gate just open, and not have to see a cutscene. As far as the autocharge idea, I meant just having a open gate and as you ran through it would charge you. That may be a little less interactive then people want though. Also, it wouldn't charge you every single time you ran through, it would be a pay then you could ran through as many times as you want until the airship shows up.
