If macros didn't exist, I wouldn't be able to play this game. That's the stark reality.

I mean, that's unfortunate, but the stark reality for you should be that games are built with the average control schemes in mind. Building systems around the myriad of disabilities would be nearly impossible. Macros serve a niche purpose and that will never change for a variety of reasons.
