Can we just end ALL demolishion pauses forever?

There will ALWAYS be something bad happening SOMEWHERE in the world. Stopping ALL housing demolision because someone somewhere might be disadvantaged is really disheartening. It basically turns off housing for 99% of the game because those who never log in still hold their land.

That's something they'd need to announce during a period when housing isn't paused.

I agree that, in general, they are pausing demolitions too often and for too long. Something needs to be done about it, but I'm not sure what.

I imagine it's not possible from SE's behavior, but one thing that would help would be to target them more exactly; perhaps this time it would have been possible only to pause demolitions on accounts registered to Ukraine and the surrounding areas?

Another possible solution would be something like allowing the demolition to take place, but giving anyone who logged in within a month of their home's demolition the ability to skip the housing lottery (and building a new ward or two when they'd normally have un-paused).
Of course that wouldn't jibe with the whole 'neighborhood' thinking the devs have, which frankly pretty much exists only in their minds...

Holding players houses hostage if they take a break from the game is a terrible system anyway, especially when it's because they refused to do instanced housing despite having no way to keep up with the demand of an entire player base.

Housing was originally FC only. When they saw that most of the wards were empty, they decided to just add the player housing to the FC wards, since they planned on having the separate at the start, but having a lot of empty space is a waste.

After it filled once it went to everyone, the PLAYERS asked for a demo system after a period of time, because players were perma quitting the game and owning houses.

You have no idea what contributions I've made or not made to what causes.

Pausing Demolitions to assuage tangential stress for people worrying about real things like how gas is quickly becoming a budget concern, or the affects to global markets and weirdly enough tech production (check out who supplies about half of the Neon used in chip production), is a small thing SE can do and saying that they should just NOT do it because you are whining for a house and "OMG THERE'S ALWAYS A PROBLEM", when the problems are likely your parents, friends, and neighbors problems is incredibly short sighted and unsympathetic.

Should people be more worried about their real lives than their virtual house? Absolutely. Does this mean that unless the company can do something directly about those real world issues they should do NOTHING? NO.

It's a bit disingenuous to blame the demo system on players. Yes, players asked for it, like we asked for the lottery system. It's a band aid fix on a terrible system that will never have anywhere close to 'sufficient' capacity for meeting players' desires.

Almost everyone that's advocated for those things would rather have a system where they're simply not necessary. However, since SE is incredibly stubborn about sticking with it, it leaves us players with the only real practical option being to suggest which bandaids will make the bulletholes bleed a tiny bit less. Because SE might actually do those, but definitely won't give us better underlying system no matter how much we ask.
