    Packet loss of 50% and 1400ms Please Help

    I'm in America playing on the Light DC. My tracert give a 1400ms last hop (195.82.50.230) to any server on Light or Chaos. Pinging this IP returns a packet loss of 50%. I can not connect reliably to 195.82.50.230 and no matter what I do on my end all of my traffic goes through this faulty connection. I'm at a loss for what to do. I was hoping the announcement yesterday would fix my problems, but it has become even worse today.

    Please don't give me the copy/paste of the FAQ response to connectivity issues. I'm not on WiFi, I've reset my router, I've tried using a VPN, etc. I've had this issue for days, and it's ruining my EW experience. Every cutscene, dungeon, and trial has been plagued by disconnections and nothing has fixed it.

    People are constantly reporting this issue, me included. I've been playing this game for 6 years and have never been a connection problem like this. Innitially I thought was my internet provider, but since so many people are having the same thing, so I guess it's se issue.

    Same issue here, just contacted support with my find. Check the image.



    server with ip: 195:82:50:230 100% package lose as you can see the log i have here checks every 5 sec to route to the server, as soon as i disconnect that server is 100% package lost.

    meaning basicly a few thing wich could be the issue.

    A. Firewall is set to tight and thing its getting ddos attack and thus blocking the connection for a few seconds.
    B. Hardware on the system is failing AKA network card could be dying.
    C. Server is overloaded to many connection for it to handle and thus dropping connections or people are bashing the login button? (yes bashing login is a thing if seen it before in mmo's its like doeing a ddos attack on the login server xD )

    I play in EU server so seeing USA and EU have that same ip that is giving issues, i am starting to thing that might be the Login/Character server for both USA and EU not sure if it also does NA.
    seeing my game server Chaos : Omega has a diffrent ip.

    Also i noticed something else:

    i use to have similair issues in GW2 (Guild wars2) after some checking it seens GW2 was hosted in the same data center with the broken ip. So the issue seems to be data center related not client related.

    i send a ticket to support about this find also.

    Adding onto this thread. Also having lag spikes and rubberbanding problems. Issues have been going on for almost a week now. In the mornings 0 lag, but as the day goes on, lag starts and gets worse.

    Platform?: PC
    Have you tried using a wired or wireless connection?: Wired.
    Internet Service Provider: Cox
    Region/Location: US West Coast (Southern California)
    Separate Modem and Router or Hybrid?: Separate Modem and Router.
    Are you using a Firewall/Anti-virus solution? If so, which ones? Yes. Microsoft Windows Defender.
    Does the issue only happen with specific characters or all characters or during a specific time or in a specific zone in the game?: Only have one character. No lag until after 1030am PDT. It gets worse and worse as the day goes on.

    I have also never written anything on these forums until now. The amount of lag spikes is unbelievable and just started up a few days ago and hasn't let up. I'm having trouble running my FC events, dungeoning, and Savage is now an absolute nightmare. I thought it may only be an issue in the evening and at night, but I tried to get my Savage runs done in the morning and it's still completely unplayable. Please help us out. I can't run an FC and my events with this nightmare.

    Issue just started occurring yesterday and has not let up. Our internet is 300+ mb/s. Have been playing FFXIV for years with no issues until yesterday. Tried restarting router, computer, switching back/forth data centers, tried using a VPN and tried all of the other fixes online which do not work. Internet is fine and 0 lag on any other programs/devices, only with FFXIV. Something is up with FFXIV specifically. Both computers we have are far above minimum system requirements.

    This is not the only thread here filling up with these same Q/A posts. Could we get an update, or alternatively something proactive to tell the players affected that someone is seriously looking into this problem.

    Did you even read what i posted, the connection to the Datacenter seems to drop, and this happens when in game loading to a new zone or even during cutscenes, when not in a cutscene/loading screen i can play as long as i want without issues.

    Just funny that after having this issue for more then 6 years or so there still havent been a fix or anybody looked in to it, maybe contact the data center and see why that IP is doeing that ? Seeing in all other posts people have the same issue with the same SERVER IP?

    SO for the love of god contact the data center and check the server with that ip or replace it ..
