    How tempered were/are the Gnath/Vath?

One of the things about them I've wondered is are they really tempered or just slightly tempered? As yes we know they've summoned Ravana twice. One where the WoL fights them and the other when the WoDs do. Yet, we also know that some of them can just nope the heck out of the hive mind that is the One mind. Which goes against what we knew about Primals and tempering at the time and even the stuff we learned after that.

Being part of the hive mind does not seem to be an effect of tempering. It appears to be a thing of its own, and probably existed even before they summoned Ravana the first time.
I am not sure if any of the Gnath/Vath are actually tempered - but perhaps we saw some proof that they are, and I am just not remembering it.

There's definitely some influence of tempering among the Gnath--there has to be, that's just how primals work--but it's muddied and exacerbated by the hivemind. I mean, if the only person who's tempered in the Onemind is the Overmind, how would you even tell the difference between that and the entire hive being tempered? They'll all act as one regardless.

It seems quite possible that the Onemind is tempered and therefore its tempered thoughts influence the rest of the Gnath, but once an individual loses that connection then they do not personally have any aether corruption that would keep them tempered.

Part of the tempering, when you cure it, you have to remove the memories of it.
The hivemind will ALWAYS remember being tempered.
They are the only beast tribe that can never be cured... not unless you killed every single member of the species until it was only the eggs, and then wiped everything from THEM all at once.

Or maybe a single fertilized queen.

That depends entirely on where the tempered memories are stored and how "polluting" they are. The lorebook indicates that there is one central Gnath who houses the Onemind, so perhaps curing them or even replacing them is enough to fix the entire colony.

That would be the Overmind, who we meet in one of the Vath beast tribe quests.

He looks amazing and I wish we got some of his pieces as gear.

So, would curing the Overmind mean that all the Vath would become no minds?

i.... dont think so(???). this is a complete guess but given the vath are a natural hivemind some might become no minds but i don't think all of them will.

No, they'd still be a hive mind but an untempered one, perhaps less likely to be in conflict with the dragons.
