Precisely, Garlean glams should be linked to doing stuff in and around Garlemald.
They've already said they're going to add Garlean themed glams to the game, they weren't adding them before for story reasons.

Because I realize that companies also need to make money, and if any company deserves to make money, it's FFXIV. I want to support them financially, and to make sure their developers and modelers get paid a great wage.

Or you're my Garlean, Angellos: And you roleplay openly in the community and those around you know you to have defected many years ago. My Garlean is a prominent member of an Ishgardian noble house (House Vontine.) And he works as their Engineer. He doesn't bother trying to hide his heritage, and he works tirelessly to mend the rift between Garleans and Eorzeans.

That part about mending the rift is interesting..... is there actually any garlean that even tried to do that? I only knew 3 kind of garlean, the one with great loyalty for the empire, the one with great defiance for the empire or the one who pursue their own personal agenda, remind me if i am wrong but i cant seems to find any garlean who tried to mend the relation between garlean and other race before endwalker, yes we have some friendly garlean but they ussually goes to the type that strongly defy the empire even gaius
Sadly there’s hardly any information regarding the Garlean’s physiology & other aspects of it.
It’s absurd there isn’t a full explanation as to why Garleans can’t manipulate aether, while also more throughly their “Third Eye” explanation.
One thing that’s for certain it’s that they’re incredibly strong along with superior spatial awareness.
According to some mixture accounts with lore wise, they’re not Hyur nor share any ancestry with them.
That being said, they’re compensate to genetically have stronger aether within their bodies that rumour has it they’re as strong as a Roegadyn or stronger & somewhat physical superior than the rest of the races.
There’s no official account to claim otherwise but this video it’s the closest that perhaps has a more comprehensive guide/possible explanation as this viewer so stated from gathering various sources:

May the video spark some highlights & judge for yourselves,
Enjoy!

Regarding the Garlean gunblade & gear, I have already made both a petition and thread for them on here. And even asked Yoshida in the Q&A if he’s going to add them, and he said he will.![]()

Garlean armor always reminds me of the old Guyver anime.

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

The problem with that quote from the EE is that we haven’t seen any evidence of that from the game itself and the game treats their inability to use magic as absolute. This is incorrect. Per the Encyclopedia Eorzea: "Garleans have little inborn ability to manipulate their body's aether, however, and thus the arcane arts have ever eluded all but a few."
There are pure-blooded Garleans capable of using aether, it is rare but it is possible.
The point that poster was trying to get across is that there’s no such thing as a “Garlean” race model. Garleans in the game just take a Midlander or Elezen body and change the ears and put an eye in their forehead. Some like Maxima are still a normal Elezen head that you can make right now. SE would need to create a whole race from scratch in order to make them playable.
Cid uses a unique appearance like the other leaders in the game, but it’s based on a Midlander skeleton. If you copy him in the Halloween event, he does Midlander emotes and he’s super short compared to the “Elezen” Garleans.
Given how Garleans are portrayed, it wouldn't surprise me if anyone discovered that they had the talent, they'd hide it out of fear or shame.
Oooh, shiney...

Hey there Devs!
I know that companies are always looking to give their players new items and experiences, while also trying to make a few bucks in the process. So I have come with a suggestion that would do both of those things.
Now that we've gone all of these long years, with Garlean roleplayers wishing for Garlean armor (Not the eastern Imperial armor that we have in game, but the standard issue Garlean Imperial armor from Garlemald.)
Can we please put a set of Garlean Imperial armor on the mogstation that INCLUDES a helmet and THIRD EYE? Yes, that's right: I suggest putting the third eye up on the mogstation. Bonus: An Imperial gunblade.
I alone would be buying at least six of them because I roleplay a lot of Garleans. I know many, many others who would do the same. This is a great opportunity, especially in this expansion, to finally offer the Imperial garb + third eye.
You would make a TON of money off of these items, and we the players would absolutely LOVE to have them. Thank you for reading.
The "Garlean Legatus wannabe" in me highly approves of this idea-- plus, your Gunblade suggestion would finally complete one of my "Legate" glams I wear whenever I wander around Garlemald. I've long since ran out of suitable options to wear with my Law sets (see below)-- and an Imperial gunblade would be perfect.
In addition to the third eye, I'm still hoping that we get more of the Garlean officer's gear on the Mog Station or attainable in 6.X-- for instance, Menesius' armour and Uncle Emet's hairstyle (lovely artwork by Dodorimo
