Iyami is a recovering Gold Saucer addict. She used to be there every day, but now tries to only drop by when she has to get rid of excess Triple Triad cards. (It's totally not just because I have a stupid amount of MGP and nothing left I want to buy with it and thus have no reason to keep playing, I swear.)
Mad because smol . That is all. XD
Tail-grooming. It's usually trimmed short when adventuring for long periods of time to avoid matting

Ewwwwwww, it's all glowwy again!
The backstory I've come up with for Eri so far isn't super in-depth, but it's better than whatever I had in mind when I first started the game. I've decided that she originally came from Yanxia, seeing as that's one of the places Raen typically come from. She was born shortly after Doma was conquered by the Empire, so she's roughly around the same age as Lyse and Hien. Her home village was fairly remote, sitting near the very outskirts of Yanxia. Her mother was born and raised in the same village while her father was originally from Doma, having chosen to leave his old home behind to live with her. Upon receiving word of Doma's fall, the villagers were nervous, but ultimately decided to stay put as the Empire had initially ignored them due to their out-of-the-way location. Eri lived much of her childhood in peace as a result, but as the years went by the Empire began to encroach closer and closer to the village. Fearing the possibility of their daughter being conscripted should their home fall under Garlean control, her parents chose to flee, traveling overseas and eventually arriving in Eorzea. Eri was around twelve at the time. Her family ended up settling in Thanalan, where she spent her teenage and early adult years. As she came of age, she began to have aspirations of becoming an adventurer, but these dreams were put on hold when the Calamity occurred. Eorzea being devastated by Bahamut's rampage, Eri chose to stay with her parents to help them regain the stability they had prior to the Seventh Umbral Era. After five years had passed and her family was in a better position, she told her parents of her intention to pursue her dream, which they accepted. She traveled to Limsa Lominsa in the hopes of studying arcanima, and that's where A Realm Reborn begins.
I have three characters. All three of them aren't WoL (to anyone's knowledge), but they're side characters to a friend of mine. And none of them are from Eorzea. All three come from other shards.
Two of them are from the Tenth, a mother (Mi'qote) and her adopted daughter (Au ra, who had a trauma so bad that her mind reverted to that of a child, despite being an adult). The mother had come into possession of a jewel that could grant any wish once it absorbed enough aether. As the watery fate of their world happened, she used it to wish to go to safety with her daughter. They were brought into the area between worlds, but the daughter let go of her mom's hand and ended up finding herself on the Seventh. Mom came to the source, where she basically became a death seeker because of the loss of her daughter. She came in shortly before the Seventh Umbral Calamity, and fought in it (That character is a Legacy character.).
The third character comes from the Seventh. An elezen tormented and eventually thrown out by a noble family for not being considered "normal," she had to quickly learn how to survive. She became a thief. Her only exposure to people before were her family (she would get locked in cages and dark rooms and never was allowed out.). She just assumed everyone was like that, so every adult was a target. And then one day, she happened upon a scared, crying, childlike woman in an alley. Thinking this would be an easy steal, she went for it, but stopped as the girl noticed her, and had a look in her eyes much like that of a child. Something was different about her. Thinking maybe the same thing happened to her, considering the girl's dress, she started talking to the girl, who told her everything about her home world being destroyed, how she lost her mom between worlds, all that. So this thief decided to take her under her protection. While the au ra didn't approve of her thievery, she understood it was necessary to survive. Then the Calamity that took their world happened.
During the Seventh Umbral Calamity, as Bahamut broke out of Dalamud, the miqo'te could only look on in fear. Then she noticed that her jewel was charged, and wished that her daughter was safe, thinking it'd be her final wish. As she returned home that fateful day, she saw two figures outside of her house. Thinking she was being robbed, she held her weapon at her side, ready to draw it. One of the figures looked over, and her eyes widened as she realized it was her daughter. The elezen, somehow being brought to the Source along with the au ra, immediately told her to get away and attacked. She was knocked out in one hit by the miqo'te and her actual training compared to the elezen who only knew basic street fighting.
The au ra quickly hugged her mom and told her to stop attacking the elezen. They all went into the house, where she let the thief take a warm bath, wear proper clothes, and eat an actual home cooked meal. Mom then said to her "My daughter told me your story. I thank you for protecting her. As it stands, you're new to this world and have a lot to learn. I welcome you into my house as long as you'd like. I'll even adopt you if you so choose, I know my daughter told you about me as well. You'll be well taken care of here. The only thing I require is that you stop stealing, unless it's of the enemies of this world. I will teach you everything I know, even combat skills not just to survive, but to protect. You don't have to choose now, but I have made a bed for you. You've been through a lot today, I know that pain myself, my daughter now knows it two-fold. Get some rest, then come eat breakfast and think about what you want to do. But whatever you do, do not talk about the other worlds to anyone outside of us two."
And so the elezen joined the miqo'te's family, and eventually they met the Warrior of Light (again, my friend) of this world. The elezen and the WoL fell in love, and are due to be married soon, bringing one more into the family. Those two went on to do the events of Endwalker together as well, but I won't spoil that.
There are plans being made for a fourth character, another au ra, whom also comes from the Tenth and was the miqo'te's lover as well as a WoL from that world, but besides knowing exactly where she'll be found when she does appear, I have a bit of work to do on her.
I hope you enjoyed my possibly crackheaded story about my characters.

Ironically, doesn't really like traveling despite his occupation as an adventurer. Only start adventuring for the money. Doesn't have his own house, so he sleeps at the Rising Stone to save money. When on adventure trip at Gridania, he visits his parents and stay there for a time.
Love animals, especially chocobo.
View the scions as his other family. BFF with thancred and used to occasionally have drinking competition with him (before the end of arr). Have a secret relationship with minfilia.
Doesn't really like attention, so he's quite weary if people start fawning at him. Absolutely hate Zenos due to the obsession.
He's not exactly the lawful-good hero material. He has his own moral code. Only agree to this warrior of light business because minfilia ask him to. Still can't forgive hydaelyn for what she's done to minfilia.
Fully embrace the Azem persona.
After EW, he truly do consider emet and hythlodaeus as his friends (due to time spent on elpis). He certainly isn't looking for a way to go back in the past again to save the Ancients, wdym..*cough*
Sarcasm as coping mechanism. Depressed af actually.
The most touching detail I have seen someone come up with was that their character was mute and had some sort of processing disorder (kind of like Meteion--on the autism spectrum) as well. It made the nodding and exaggerated actions make so much sense but also incorporated the isolation the WoL is said to feel in the story.
Mine expresses herself through her interior decorating. Her apartment is a place for other travelers to rest and leave a note in the guestbook like at camp sites or trails. It also has plants from all over the world(s) and framed pictures of important places. Currently the Tempest and lore-rich Eastern Thanalan where lots of archaeology is underway. And a Namazu mender in the shower, because there is no way to avoid maintenance for this lifestyle and it costs money, yesyes.
