Free trial pvp still disabled after a year of silence

Tommorow is the 1 year anniversary for this news post about disabling pvp in the free trial: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...6bd640829c1ae9

In this post Square Enix says the following: "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to those who are playing on free trial accounts. This restriction will be lifted after countermeasures have been implemented, so we ask for your continued patience and understanding."

It has been a year, when are these countermeasures being implemented? The reason it is even disabled is cause of a select few japanese players using hacks during Rival Wings. Why is the entire playerbase punished for the action of a few? Players in NA and EU have not had this problem and now we have had to wait for a year only to hear nothing about this issue we were not even having? I feel like this issue has been pushed aside and forgotten.

Pvp could really use the player boost from free trial players so it sucks that this issue has not been looked at for a year.

The only free trial players do, at least in my data center, is just impersonating the players and abusing the callout. It's better for them to not access any PvP content...

Casual PvP for Free Trial (Frontlines, Rival Wings, Training Match) should be fine, just not anything ranked.

Remains to be seen with 6.1. But if PVP isn't opened up to free trials, that can only mean they haven't put in the put in the countermeasures.

I'm not sure they even can put in countermeasures against the type of hacking that was being abused seeing as the RMT farmers still routinely take advantage of it for mass gil farming operations.

People hacked for multiple season's in Feast without penalties and some of the cheats like automated silence/stun go easily undetected so unless something drastic like an anti cheat happens I don't see free trial PvP coming back
