But she's not talking about current content.
That's fine, I'm pretty sure there wasn't really one.
The raids themselves were great mechanically, and fun to do. But if they were supposed to serve as an advertisement for NieR for people who've never played it (like me!) - they failed on pretty much every level imaginable.
Yeah, I loved the boss fights in the Nier raids. They were engaging and fun for me. But as a long time Nier fan...it was absolutely terrible from a story standpoint. Crossovers are meant to be a form of advertising, sure, but...come on now. I know that Yoko Taro could have done better than this. But I guess this is what happens when they recruit a guy who doesn't even like the game he's doing the crossover for and gives 0 hoots besides. He's a quirky individual to begin with, but his heart just wasn't in it. I wanted to be thrown onto an emotional roller coaster and I was violently tossed into the merry-go-round instead. That's fine, I'm pretty sure there wasn't really one.

Leves recharged faster than they do now after Yoshida took over during the 1.0 days. When ARR came they slowed it down again to discourage people from grinding them too much. Some of the gating is...okay.
The main thing I'd like to see done away with is so many things having "allowances"
Why can we only do 12 beast tribe quests a day?
Why can we only do 6 custom deliveries?
Why are leves capped at 99 and refill so slowly?
It didn't make sense in 1.0 and I'll never understand why they kept some of these things in ARR.
I got bored by level 63 in the Stormblood expansion (before meeting my now favorite character Hien) and quit until Shadowbringers was released. I begrudgingly resumed Stormblood (ended up loving it by Prelude in Violet - the Eastern storyline was way more interesting to me than Gyr Abania) and finished Shadowbringers and left during 5.1 to play other games.
I'm presently on my longest sub-spree in my history of playing FFXIV since 2014, and finished restoring the Doman Enclave in 2022. I actually love the time-gating here. I feel like I made an impact over a long period of time, which for my WoL's story as wanting to heavily support Doma worked really well for me. Also they are completely rebuilding and that takes time. None of the storytelling felt outdated or out of place during the Enclave storyline either. (Unlike other storylines like job quests that are far more stuck in their "era" and force you to pretend you moved back in time for them to make sense if you are already past that expansion).
I'm not really into custom deliveries or most of the Beast Tribes so I have no opinion there, but I'm still of the mindset that I don't need immediate gratification for everything.
Not everything has to be done super fast. ESPECIALLY the Doman Enclave - I loved having little cutscenes to look forward to every few weeks and it made this storyline feel more realistic, like they were rebuilding as time went on.

I agree about doman enclave because it only gates story and a few optional rewards.
Don't agree with beast tribes since they also are used for exp and could be abused.
This might also be low priority since it doesn't gate the quests themselves but its kinda dumb that to experience story bits you need to do tedious chores that are nothing but chores, it doesn't provide any challenge or real fun to be had and for the past few expansions xiv has been trying to be more of a story game so it would indeed make sense to remove or atleast tweak in some way or another some of the older chores.

Custom deliveries reward scrip and gil(?). make them unlimited and you destroy certain markets (crafting/gathering materia, etc)Some of the gating is...okay.

Leves are capped so that you can't continually make money (remember coffee biscuits?)
Limit can be on the currency and not on the progress of given NPC or tribe.
The beast tribes should be reversed and maybe custom deliveries. You get all the story quests one after another and then the dailies open. Older beast tribe stories were well thought out and getting to do them all in a row would make them so much better. While HW and SB are decent xp for alt jobs. The ARR are completely worthless xp wise. You level too fast through that window and it becomes open to late.
