Limit can be on the currency and not on the progress of given NPC or tribe.
Leves are capped because they are a gil source and uncapped leves would result in absurd inflation. it's why they had to nerf coffee biscuitsSome of the gating is...okay.
The main thing I'd like to see done away with is so many things having "allowances"
Why can we only do 12 beast tribe quests a day?
Why can we only do 6 custom deliveries?
Why are leves capped at 99 and refill so slowly?
It didn't make sense in 1.0 and I'll never understand why they kept some of these things in ARR.
People don't seem to get this. It's not just about XP, but the gil sources have to be capped or they will be exploited.
Custom deliveries also can give current purple scripts currency, and you can't have that not be capped.
Didn't the devs already cut a ton of the grind out of the older beastmen questlines by upping the rep you get per turn in? At this point you might as well ask them to remove the time gate altogether, lol.
Don't think they did. They improved the rewards for each quest a bit (some Poetics added), and most of the ARR beasttribe quests become much easier once you have flying enabled.
But the amount of reputation you get is the same as before.
Get rid of the allowance cost for every tribe NPC other than current expansion tribe quest givers
There are so many tribe quests to do a single days worth of 12 wont allow you to do them all and post ARR they have a max of 3 per day anyway which take 5-10 mins tops to complete so you have to pick qnd choose . Remove the daily cost of the old tribe quests and we have something to do other than farm fates , do our roulettes then log off due to boredom . Keep the daily quest amount (arr 5-6) , (post arr 3) per NPC
The me of 13 years ago says, "Yes, please!" But now that I'm older and wiser, I've seen the bottom of this slope. It's not pretty. Removing the timegating has various side effects that destroy the game:As someone who's only been playing this game a couple of years, I love that there's still a bunch of stuff to work towards that will keep me occupied for the foreseeable future. I'm diligently turning in my weekly custom deliveries, and I still collect my free weekly 20K from the Doman Enclave long after having completed it. I've farmed one of my Zodiac relics to max, and I look forward to working on others someday. I love that I can make visible progress over a broad range of content without immediately completing it in a single afternoon.
- Nothing seems to matter anymore. Why invest time in any of the content when you know that in six months it's going to be handed to you for free?
- You're going to feel like a real idiot for having spent months doing turn-ins for your Doman Enclave back in the day when it's now available to you in a matter of hours.
- New players will burn through all the old content the game has to offer in a matter of weeks. There isn't enough current content to keep anyone engaged (by design), so there will be a giant drop in subs.
So, how about them adding the ARR beastmen mounts and 70 ex mounts to the moogle event? lolThe me of 13 years ago says, "Yes, please!" But now that I'm older and wiser, I've seen the bottom of this slope. It's not pretty. Removing the timegating has various side effects that destroy the game:

isn't that how it works for gear xD
Increased allowance can be a middle ground I guess.
3 for each beast tribe. *shrug*
Then again, that'd just increase the daily work xD
Yes, but your reward in that case is that you get access to the latest and greatest content with your in-game friends while it's current. It's a tradeoff that most people are happy with. What is the up-side to doing the same for solo content?
