Thread: Are 15 liners FC recruitment spams generally accepted in FF?

This same exact person in my server has been going around in different city zones spamming this 15 liner FC recruitment, every other hour or so(the frequency flactuates)
Its obviously an annoying spammer/spam posting and i proceed to report to support desk on this, however it seems that its useless and he continues to travel around the server spamming this 15 liner FC recruitment and all i get is an automated generated reply from the GM for the last 4 times i had reported him


Do people get warnings/suspended/muted for constantly(frequently) spamming a 15 liner macro on shout in FF?

I'd say that's a pretty loose definition for "spam" if they're doing it once every 2 hours.... or do you mean they swap cities every 2 hours?

If someone is posting a block of text once an hour I don't think that's regarded as "spam". You can easily talk in between their posts and it wouldn't push anything off your text that you couldn't easily just scroll up a little to catch (actual spam makes this difficult since the chat scrolls by so fast constantly).

That's probably why your GM reports aren't doing anything, the GM's don't consider it spam. Since it's the same person can't you blacklist them?

I guess I can see why it's somewhat annoying if this is literally 15 separate shouts of advertising their FC. But It's also one person you can ignore and never have to deal with again. Whether or not they are breaking TOS isn't really the players concern, we aren't the police and shouldn't be acting as such. Reporting people is for notifying GM's of conduct that affects you (sometimes indirectly), not for tattletale-ing. Spamming in and of itself is usually a repetitive message over and over again, not one large message every hour. If the text isn't repeating quickly and the entire message is spaced out reasonably (I think an hour is reasonable).. then there's really no rules being broken. They are saying a long thing ONCE every hour.

Again if you've reported it multiple times yet the GM's close the tickets and ignore it.. they're probably fine.
